I exchanged my five star resort with the RCI and found myself in this resort. (Briefly). The staff were lovely however our room had a balcony which had the biggestest electricity pylon totally obliterating any view that we may have had. There was a fold up bed in the corridor which seemed a permanent fixture along with a dustbin on each floor. The lift didn't work and the pool actually is in a hotel down the road which had one sun bed. Sorry but not for us and we immediately went to the Hilton in Karon. OK if on a budget but not if you want a real quality hotel.

We chose this property as a "splurge" on our 3 week trip around Thailand. We booked only a few days in advance and were advised that there would be "no sea view". We took the room, not minding, only to find that not only was there no sea view, but no windows at all. Taking it in stride, we decided to stay, figuring we wouldn't be spending alot of time in the room anyhow.

First, let me say, that not having windows messes with your whole sense of time, waking up at random hours wondering whether it is day or night. Also, the only light switch in the room was an energy saving "master switch" that controlled the lights, the AC, TV, etc. If you wanted one light out, you had to turn all lights out, even the AC. The room was smelly and sweltering, and if you wanted the AC, you had to sleep with the lights on. Also, one night, we awoke to a man (I'm guessing an employee), coming into our room at 1:00 in the morning. He had a key and apologized and went away, but still, you don't expect hotel employees to enter your room in the middle of the night.

Otherwise, the location was good, right across from the beach and within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, etc.

I would stay elsewhere as all the hassels of the room are not worth saving a few bahts.

My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel over New Year's Eve. We booked it through an Asian hotel booking website. No problems there.

When we got to the hotel, I ran in to get change for the taxi and gave them our booking forms etc. Came back from the taxi after a few minutes and they had already sorted everything out for us and our room was ready. Lovely staff. Not all of them spoke English, but it was enough for us to get by.

The hotel is at the very end of Patong Beach. Walking distance to all the restraunts and about a ten minute walk to Bang La road.

And it is RIGHT across from the beach!! Patong beach isn't a big deal. The water is slightly muddy looking and it's packed. If you go further down to Kata, the beach is gorgeous. But if you just want to relax on a decent (ish!) beach then this is great, because it literally takes you less than a minute to walk there :)

We stayed in a standard double room. We asked for two beds, but there wasn't a twin room available when we checked in. A few days into our trip one of the staff came out asking something that we didn't quite understand. I thought she said 'can I mop your room?' which I thought meant 'can I clean your room'. Turns out she was asking if she can MOVE our room.

A double room had become available and they moved us when we were out! They literally moved EVERYTHING. We got back to our original room to find someone else's suitcases in there!

But we sorted it out and they appologised for the misunderstanding.

Our new room had no windows. Which was Ok because we never opened them anyway due to the mosquitoes. And the bathroom smelled very bad! Like sewage. We brought in some incense to help with the smell and mosquitoes. Over the course of a week, we used up an entire, massive can of airfreshener!!

But apart from that, I would say it was pretty good value. They have two computers downstairs with free internet access. If you can wait out the other guests. Some of them were literally online for HOURS!!!
