We got a good deal 50USD a night with B&B, stayed 5 nights then went to phi phi islands.
great location away from noisy bangla rd
hotel very good standard for 4 star. pool bit in shade
very hard to get sun beds
only problems beds in rooms are really hard, we had to get extra pillows from reception
and sleep on them to get a good night sleep
when we checked out they charged us extra for stains on the sheets which they say would not wash out
we noticed the stains on the sheets and they were there before we used them
we managed to argue our case and got off from paying.
the only thing good is the restaurant next door, a little belgium one
come out of receiption then turn left its there
best steaks I had in Thailand and the cheapest

1) We were requested for photocopies of our passport upon check-in, which we think should not be the case as passport is a very sensitive/important document. In fact, we could fill-in our particulars as required in the check-in declaration forms. Of course, the hotel reserves the right to view/inspect our passport to ensure correct information being provided!
2) The hotel allowed us for check-in, early by 4 hours! Only 2 available out of 3 rooms available though. This is something we could not ask for more, it save us so much time.... but suggest the hotel should consider to allocate 1 baggage room somewhere at the ground floor, just in case room(s) not available for check-in in the future.
3) The white-conceptual of the rooms and tile-flooring impress us very much, rather than other hotels furnished with carpets... which is in fact very dirty. The bathroom was big enough and well-equipped with a bathtub and shower cubicle separately. The glass-panel between the bathroom and bedroom gives an open concept but still limit your privacy by pulling down the blind.
4) The swimming pool and poolside bar work uniquely for guests, we have not tried any of its drink though. However, we are unsure how those chairs next to the poolside work? We went to the pool at 7.30am and no one else besides 3 of us. At 8.30am, there were 4 European-guests requested us to vacant 4 chairs in a row; as they claimed that they left their towels (which were provided by hotel, same as all other guests) on those chairs for their own-identification, by saying: "These are our chairs." We vacant them even though it sounded ridiculous.
5) The air-conditioners not so "user-friendly" as the temperature is self-adjust (automatic), so we could not adjust according to our likeness. It was not as cold as its temperature shown.
6) DO'S & DONT'S (Directions~Vehicle-entrance is your right, while the Vehicle-exit is your left) : -
i) Try Poo Seafood Restaurant on the opposite left of the hotel, tasty food with reasonable pricing;
ii) Try pancake stall right outside the hotel entrance, closes at 10.30pm (can't recall what time it opens);
iii) Try Mango Tree massage Center, saw row as the hotel - only few doors away towards the left (when walking out from the EXIT);
iv) Must slash the prices offer by the retailers! They're way expensive than the reasonable pricing;
v) Don't try the massage right next to the hotel (on the hotel's left), pink colour signboard, not as good as other we have tried; and
vi) Contact local driver Mr.Bunchoo Thunyapoosuwan / Au (his nickname) at TEL [--] : Mobile : [--] +. Friendly, English speaking and good pricing guide.

We were able to book this hotel when Accor had a sale which gave us a city view room for $60AUD a night.

We were not expecting much for what we paid but were blown away! We were right in Patong, close to the beach shops and nightlife! The main pool was beautiful and there was even an adults only pool on the roof which was really relaxing.
Happy hour at the main pool was from 3.30 to 5.30 which was a great time to start drinking!!

The rooms where cleaned beautifully everyday and the staff were helpful!

Enjoyed my stay and I will be back when in Phuket again.

If you need a driver while you are there head out the front of the hotel and where the Family Mart is there is a tour operator, he is great, cuts a really good deal and ask for a driver there called Cham! He knows all the good spots and is not too pricey.

The Mercure was a nice big hotel close to the main areas of Patong. The room we had was on the sixth floor overlooking the pool. It was spacious and clean. We liked the hotel and although it was busy with young Australian's we didn't think there was too much noise at night. The pool is lovely and we liked the swim up bar. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We lost our key and they replaced it without any problems. One downside to this hotel is that it doesn't offer free WiFi. I would recommend two places nearby for breakfast : Oasis turn left out of the hotel and Shakers turn right. Both offer free WiFi. This hotel was good value for money and perfect for what we wanted.

Modern hotel with large pool and clean rooms. My partner and myself were impressed with the hotel's appearance. Check-in was quick, room & interior was new & well laid out, nice balcony (all rooms have pool view), large assortment of breakfast foods including western & asian. The nightly entertainment band were very good & friendly. There is a happy hour at the main pool then the next hour at the top pool although the alcohol appears very diluted. It can be difficult to get a drink during happy hour at the main pool as it does get busy. Get in early for a sun lounge as they are quickly taken after breakfast. Reception was friendly & helpful. The hotel is a 2 minute walk to the night market, 5 minutes to the beach &15 minutes to the shopping centre. My partner had a very interrupted sleep most nights due to noise from adjoining units. This included toilet, talking & television. Also, the breakfast area, eventhough the food is very good, is very sterile - non thai & no views.

The hotel accomodated our request for early check in and the staff were pretty courteous to us throughout our stay. However, we had a few issues with the room.

1) Bed bug in the bed
2) Weird dewy smell from the air-conditioner
3) No TV signal for a few hours for both days we stayed

The above were probably isolate incidents but it happened nontheless and as we had initially thought that our insect bites were from mosquitoes and only connected the weird smell to the air conditioner only the second day, we didn't manage to highlight anything to the hotel in time (except for the TV part).

So the above incidents kind of spoilt my brief stay at Mercure.
