Out of the four hotels we stayed at in Patong this was the worst for cleanliness and noise. We had a superior room on the ground floor which faced the pool. If you want any form of privacy then dont get a ground floor room facing the pool. The hotel itself is a multi storey complex in the heart of Patong which means you can start shopping as soon as you walk out onto the street. It is a bit of a walk to the beach, but as the beach is crowded you could use the pool which is pretty big. The staff were friendly but again struggled with english - yes I know we were in Thailand but the place revolves around tourism so it would have been nice to at least have one person at reception with a good grasp of english. If there are no issues then pigeon english is fine, but if you have issues it is frustrating trying to communicate them. The rooms are off long corridors which echo every bit of noise, so when guests yell up and down the corridors at night and slam doors everyone wakes up. Our biggest issues besides noise was cleanliness. As soon as we opened the door to the room we could smell a bad odour which didn't go away while we were there. The room and bathroom themselves are OK but nothing fantastic. Air conditioning worked, the bed was a bit hard but that didn't matter so much as the rubbish that was under it. The wife lost her earring and when we moved the bed out a bit to look for it there was dirt and rubbish under there - it looked like it had never been cleaned. When we tried to tell the staff they couldn't understand what we were saying. Overall, if you don't mind a bit of noise, can put up with a bit of a smell and some rubbish under the bed then this is the place for you. The pool is good although very busy, the location is right in the heart of the hustle and bustle and there are plenty of shops and restaurants around within walking distance.
