“A gem in Patong with some refinements needed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013 via mobile

To my surprise this was one of my best stays in phuket till date. Firstly warm and friendly staffs who really take their time to meet your queries and requests. I stayed in their standard room which i feel that could be improved further. I was told the standard rooms are the oldest ones around. Ditch all the unnecessary cabinets and selves to make way for more space for guests. Notice that the ac is seriously old and needs replacement ( up to the point where my friend has to change rooms due to ac malfunction and serious leaks) TV's should be changed to LCDs to save space. The restaurant serves good food at cheap prices. Will definitely stay again but opting for other rooms in future..

We stayed here for three nights in September. We stayed in a Double Deluxe room (#53) that faced towards a couple of bars and other buildings. The room itself is a great size with a huge, comfy bed and nice bathroom. The room is very clean and the cleaning staff were some of the nicest people in the hotel. We received two free bottles of water daily and there is a mini bar in the room (at a cost.) Unfortunately, the noise at the hotel was a problem for us. We could hear conversations of people in the next room as well as their television. One morning we were woken at 5am because our neighbour was watching an action movie. You could also hear the music from the bars from 11pm until the early hours of the morning. Most of the time the music was just a loud dull pounding sound but if you're a light sleeper, it probably would drive you nuts. We just made sure we had the air con or fan on to help drown out some of the noise and we were able to sleep more easily. The pool and gym facilities are both nice. The gym is quite sizeable, as is the pool area. There is currently some construction going on in a building beside the pool so just be aware if you are wanting to have a quiet afternoon by the pool. Both the pool and gym are open to the public. However, we used the gym late at night and the pool was reasonably empty each time we went for a swim.

The hotel location is a 2minute walk to Bangla Road so if you're into the party scene, this place is in a perfect spot. It's also close to Jungceylon Shopping Centre and a night time street food market (opposite the Muay Thai boxing stadium). The hotel staff are nice enough, however you don't really get the above and beyond service that we have received at other hotels. We checked out at 12pm and it seemed that the staff were a little flustered trying to deal with multiple checkouts at once. Personally, we won't be back to this hotel because we aren't into the party scene as we'd be looking for a hotel with similar facilities in a quieter area. Just a tip: if you're looking for some cheap and fantastic street food, head down the street away from the beach about three blocks and turn right. You'll see a small laneway with some stalls. Try the stall halfway down on the right for great noodle soup. Try the stall directly opposite the pharmacy for some fantastic food as well! We visited there multiple times and were never disappointed with the 50/60 baht meals!

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the stairs otherwise you'll hear people walking up and down. The doors...

Patong is a great party spot and the Yorkshire is in a fantastic spot. Short walk to bars, restaurant, the stadium (for M.T. Boxing), and the beach. It is reasonably priced, especially in the off season. Even if you just want to hang out by the pool to read, listen to music, or sleep, the street is not so busy that you can't get some quiet time. I've stayed here on several occasions now, and have always enjoyed the friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere.

Room Tip: Especially if you're with one other person, go for the Luxury Apartment. It's much larger t...

If you like a state of the art gym and and olympic size swimming pool and dont mind staying in a room that is a bit small then this is the hotel for you.

Im hardly in the hotel and dont excercise on holiday and like a big room and it must have tea and coffee making facilities in it. So I prefer the White patong hotel across the road from the Yorkshire.

Both hotels is awesome for the price......The White patong is a bit cheaper.......and i like

Just finished 12 days in Patong at this hotel and found it to be a wonderful surprise.. Location is Fantastic,, STaff was abolutely a blast,, very friendly and alot of fun , especially after I gave the ladies some chocolate.. ha ha.
Room was very nice, room service great. Has a great work out center and the pool is delightful.. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a reasonable priced hotel in the middle of Patong,, close to beach, nightlife and entertainment. Good prices for the food as well.. If you don't want to eat there during the entire trip there are many choice restaurants within 2 minutes walk.

Room Tip: DS room is best.. big, lots of room , private. Just try to stay away from the rooms near the entran...

The good - The food was as good as advertised and the room, physically was again, just as advertised. The location was truly right in the middle of things. Take away all of the negative and it would be a great place... but...

The bad - The room I was given has about a 170 degree view of the building next door and a 10 degree view of the street and bar below. The bar blares out loud thumping music until 3am negating any ability to sleep. No worries, I thought. I'll just sleep late. No luck there. The very heavy doors are designed to auto close and they do so loudly. At 5am. Oh well, I'll just sleep a little later. No luck. The "artistic" bathroom door with the opaque glass panels lets in the bright sunlight lighting up the room very brightly. Oh, well.. I guess I'll go have breakfast. No Luck. Kitchen doesn't open until 7:30.

I suppose the reason they don't allow local calls from the room is to try and stop you from booking another hotel by phone. One final negative for me was that the wifi was free but only for one device at a time.

Just a couple of days in Patong, but finding this little gem made our brief stay all the more worthwhile. The deluxe room we had was spacious, clean and comfortable, had a balcony and despite its relatively close proximity to Bang La Road, it was quiet. The restaurant was clean and the breakfast is just what you need the following morning after a late night out on the tiles. Located just 2 minutes from Bang La Road it puts you in the middle of everything and just 5 minutes walk from Patong Beach.

We will definitely look to book this hotel if we return to Phuket and would strongly reccommend it to anyone travelling to Patong.
