“A bit tired”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2012

Stayed with family in two pool facing deluxe rooms. Rooms were okay, but not cleaned very thoroughly on a daily basis. Some areas need a little TLC, spas in two out of three pools didn't work, floor in lift cracked, paint on wall peeling and marked. Staff were friendly and helpful. We needed to seek medical attention for one of our party and front desk folk were very obliging. Buffet breakfast was good, but restaurant often a little crowded. Situated across the road from the beach and at the extreme northern end of Patong Beach (a definite plus). Met expectations of a 4 star beach hotel in Thailand. Would perhaps stay here again.

Room Tip: Pool facing

Great location, impressive first look, very poor reception staff. Stayed 8 nights, Upon the arrival we were welcomed by lobby staff served us the pre dirinks. My sister was booked at the nearby hotel (Thunthip Villa) for 5 days. The very first night... she was welcomed to graceland and her luggage came up with us in the room. We then took her to Thunthip Villa after half an hour, checked her hotel which is not too bad and staffs are great. Over four days, my sister met us in our room without any question from graceland hotel staffs. She only comes to meet us when we go out. What amazed me was.... on her last evening in Phuket, she was harrassed by the front office staffs and I believed including the floor manager which didn't have any name badge. When we confronted him and all the rest of the staff, He told us that non guest are not allowed to visit the rooms, it is listed in their policy. When asked to see the policy, the manager couldnt show us a wirtten policy. I then told him that my sister has been in and out of this hotel and suddenly why are you harrasing her as soon as she walks through the front door. Little that they know.... we both work in hospitality industry. I work at Four Season Hotel and she works at Marina Bay Sands Singapore. After that incident , the staff were less friendly toward us for the remainder of our stay.To this day , we still have not seen any such policy from this hotel. We will not recommend this hotel to any of our friends or family .

This hotel is across the road from the beach and has everything onsite for a relaxing escape from day to day pressures of working life. The staff were friendly and willingly did things to make life easy in this resort. There are three large swimming pools, two with their own bar. We booked a Deluxe room with breakfast and we were not disappointed. The buffet breakfast was excellent. We met up with friends we had not seen for many years so having the relaxing environment to meet up and catch up was excellent.

Room Tip: We recommend the crepes being sold during the evenings outside the gate. Our Deluxe room gave us a g...

First Impression, front foyer fantastic, staff were welcoming, thought we were going to get the five star treatment. I was mistaken.......
We booked two adjoining rooms (partents & children 12 & 14), upon arrival the rooms were on seperate floors (2&4). Not happy with that we complained and received an adjoining room upgrade over looking the pool in the new accomodations area.
Rooms were spacious, clean and appropriate for our 11 night stay. Only down side was the construction site directly behind, extension of Graceland Resort, but no real issue as we were out most days. Can't complain about progress, great to see them expanding.

Couple of issues with room service; mini bar receipts for items we never used, this occured three times over 11 days, so keep on top of this. To me it was not the money but the principal. Not calling them dishonest but their process or system failed.
Ordered room service dinner one night, order took 35 minutes and was cold.Quite expensive aswell. Watch out for inhouse service charges and VET ontop of the price you think you are paying.
To solve this issue thers is a mini-mart (Eden) just outside of the resort, so we bought all our water, alcohol and nibbles there, really cheap.

Reception service was cold and delivered in poor English. 99% of the shops speak better English than reception. But their English is much better than my Thai.

One night Management sent a posy of managers to knock on our door as the people below complained about the poor accoustics if their room as they could hear every movement in the building,(bottom floor) Management thought it was our children making the noise, but they were asleep (10:00pm). Again their poor English left them unable to understand the issue. We were annoyed and so were the couple below us of the misunderstanding.

Graceland do try hard to devliver a good service, but I feel they miss the point with their incostiant cold service. They seemed to provide a 5 star service to their Chinese customers and deliver a 3 star service to us Aussies.

I would stay there again, but not for 11 days as the shine wears off pretty quickly.

Room Tip: If you are not happy with your room, let them know immediately.

I stayed here with a friend for a week. We loved the location and the resorts facilities but thought that the rooms were a little out-dated. Internet was expensive here also. The staff were friendly and happy hour at the bar next to the pool was great fun! Would stay here again.

Nice resort but a little walk back to Bangalore Rd which is OK if the weather is cooler but when is it cool in Phuket. Resort well appointed. Two pools: sky pool much quieter but a bit slack on the cleaning up and scum in pool (supposedly from Frangipani tree). Breakfast good. Only problem was no internet access unless you pay which in this day and age is not acceptable. In fact, not many free wifi places around at all, even Starbucks wasn't free.

Gracelands is a large hotel offering a range of activites, facilities and open space for the family traveller. Located on the beach, the resort has ten pin bowling, two large swimming pools, and lawn areas for the kids to run around and play cricket, all at an affordable price. Approximately a 20 minute walk to Bangla Road and the markets on that side.

The rooms are a standard size, tidy and kept relatively clean. They are however outdated, with some furniture needing to be replaced as stains are quite visible. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and our sleep was constantly interrupted by the people talking in the next room, intoxicated groups yelling and screaming in the corridor and the people in the upstairs room walking heavily. If you're after a good night's sleep with thick walls, it's not the ideal place.

The buffet breakfast served a variety of foods and was fantastic value for money.

There are works being undertaken at the resort with noise levels kept to a minimum so we were not disturbed.

Overall, a good resort, ideal for families and groups of people. Approximately $60AUD per night including buffet breakfast for two people (usually when booked through a travel agent).
