“Great for the price and AWESOME location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights as part of our honeymoon in Thailand. We booked a pool view room which was fine for the price – fairly basic with a veranda ect. All the facilities were pretty good – except for the fairly rude front desk staff! The swim up bar was fantastic! And the staff remembered us each day! They made our stay! - also 2 for 1 cocktails - awesome!

We however did not book this hotel for the room or the facilities – we booked Baan Laimai because of the AWSOME location! It is right in front of the beach – within walking distance to everything that Patong has to offer, including the great night life. We only needed to catch one Tuk tuk the whole time we were there!

All in all I would say this hotel is pretty great for the great price that you pay for a room. Next time I would defiantly pay a little extra for a pool access room – swim right up to your room!

If you are wanting a relaxing time in Patong – then this hotel or location probably isn’t the right place for you! But if you want to be in the heart of all the action and not wanting to spend too much time in your room then this is perfect!

Room Tip: Get a pool view or pool access room - and if noise is an issue - ask for a room towards the back of...

This is the second time that I've been to the Baan Laimai Beach Resort this year - I think it's safe to say that I love it! The location is perfect if you love to be amongst the hustle and bussle, it's about a two minute walk from bangla road. However as soon as you step in side the resort area it's all forgotten. The pool is beautiful, wether it's to swim in or look at from your balcony and the beach is right across the road (not the best beach ...). I found the wait staff to be incredibly helpful and polite, however I was less then impressed with the reception staff - don't expect to receive your wake up call ...... :/ I wouldn't recommend eating at or booking tours through the hotel, as with any hotel it tends to be a exe. overall I am extremely happy with the Baan laimai. I have been here once with a group of friends ( all early 20's) and once with my mum (50's), and all thoroughly enjoyed staying here. Hope this helps! Happy traveling.

Room Tip: I recommend getting a pool view room with a balcony. Great to sit out on and you can listen to the h...

When we arrived a room was not available so we had to wait in the reception area for 3 hours where we were eaten alive by mosquito's. We asked staff what the hold up was and they just looked at us blankly and said sorry. Their english and understanding of english was very poor which was extremely frustrating as this would not be the last time I had to deal with them. Our room was spacious and the bathroom was big too. I had to call reception/housekeeping EVERY day as they would omit something when cleaning/replenishing the room ie 1 day there were no pool towels, the next no toilet paper, the day after no soap etc etc the list was endless. The 'supplies' were not always delivered when requested by phone which lead to me having to go down to reception & ask for them. This would lead to a 10-15 minute wait in reception (along with the friendly mozzies). Breakfast was okay but the area was tired looking and the tablecloths were not always clean.
The best bit of this hotel is the pool area. It is huge and kept nicely. The Location is right in the center of Patong so if you're after somewhere quiet do not stay here.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms at the back of the hotel so you will not be kept awake by the band that plays there ev...

this resort is in a perfect location with great quality rooms very nice make sure to pay a little extra for a pool view room we had a free upgrade to a better pool view which was a nice little surprise almost every room is a pool view the resort is located around the pool the resort is going through renovations other than the workers walking round and the power tools it’s not bad your out during the day anyways or swimming in the pool which is amazing great for couples families and friends located along patong beach and walk out the back into some main streets of patong. Great food and night time entertainment. make sure to talk to the bar man very nice and entertaining also try the coconut cocktail on the specials very very nice.

Before the 2004 Tsunami, this hotel was one of the hidden gems of Phuket. Its new incarnation however is an appaling mess with bad design, pathetic staff, poor build quality and terrible noise issues. The front desk staff were rude and pushy at check-in and even worse at checkout. I had to call housekeeping several times every day to get the room made up and the linen often had an awful smell. There were a series of random leaks in the bathroom and near the fridge, which often flooded the floor in the bedroom. The balcony was a puddle of water for the entire trip, rendering it unuseable. Orders from room service were not delivered on several occasions and requests for simple items like a bottle opener were ignored. The worst issue though was the noise. Every night there were people letting off fireworks after midnight and the noise from the pool was a constant irritant. Its a great pity that a hotel that I used to enjoy staying at has been hijacked by a bunch of idiots.

Stayed 3 days there this month. After reading all the negative reviews I was skeptical about staying here. Turned out the place is just fine. It makes you wonder what hotel previous reviewers stayed at. Perfect location, breakfast is adequate, and rooms are solid. Didn't have much interaction with people working there as I didn't complain about stuff. Check in was fine and the room had everything you needed. Construction was going on but was not an annoyance. Beach is perfectly located across the street and shopping and nightlife is right around the corner. People just expect too much these days and apparently love to complain about stuff. It reminded me of hotels in Mexico. You take it for what its worth and make the best of your time.

My trip to Thialand was great, except the hotel. I read tripadvisor before I left and most of the positives outweighed the negatives. I was wrong. My superior room smelled bad and had weak air conditioning. So I upgraded to the top floor pool view, pricey but had too. This areas was still under construction as of Aug. 24. The main elevator to the area was broken 3 or 4 times when trying to use it. Two times the hot water did not work. I had to take a cold shower. For the slow season, I have never seen a reception area so busy. They need more people working, there was a long line everyday all the time. The actually positives were when you talk to people, they were nice, but usually they were too busy to talk. The location is on the beach, but the beach isn't very nice. I would just stay somewhere else with a nice beach and take tuk tuks or cabs to Patong when you want to go there. Save yourself the hassle and frustration, dont stay here.

Room Tip: dont fall for cheap superior room. it is a trap, as soon as you get there you will see the superior...
