“Nice, clean, superb location and amazing food!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2011

Our 5 day stay at the Baan Laimai Beach Resort was a wonderful one and we were both quite happy! It was a clean establishment, with friendly staff and wonderful service. Located right on Patong Beach, we were located on the main beach and minutes of walking to all shopping kiosks, massage parlours, bars and even to Bang La road. The food is delicious here, with an extensive menu which includes delicious, fresh seafood, and the breakfasts offered have a generous spread. The room was cleaned thoroughly and on a daily basis and if we needed anything (extra water, towels, etc), we could simply call the front desk and it would be delivered almost immediately. Although we didn't hang out at our hotel in the evenings, the live band playing was quite good and seemed to have the guests jamming! Staff was always warm and welcoming with smiles and very helpful. The only thing that wasn't a plus was that we didn't have a balcony, or windows to open, but I guess that can be requested upon booking. Also, the shower draining system wasn't the best and would leave a nice-sized puddle of water on the bathroom floor! Other than those 2 items, I would definitely consider staying at Baan Laimai Beach Resort again, based on our first experience! A friendly reminder: If needing a taxi to get to the airport, either have the hotel call you one in advance, OR get one on the street EARLIER! We found that it wasn't so easy to grab a taxi as in our previous city, Bangkok, where they are everywhere!

Pros
Clean
Nice huge pool
Beachfront in Patong
The hotel bar an restaurant are a nightlife spot in themselves

Cons
No wireless in rooms.
Staff is pretty bad in terms of helpfulness and politeness

Summary
Cheap, nice place to stay in Patong area. Definitely pay the $10 USD upgrade for the poolside room.

I'd recommend this property to friends.

Had pool access room ,, no shade over balcony...was up the front, no privacy everyone could see us, even the public eating in the restaurant, The room was OK but the floor boards made a loud horrible creaking noise everytime we walked around the room.Reception area was sparse and uninviting, I think a lot of this is due to the renovations that are happening because even the rooms were filled with cheap furnishings and the hardest bed I have ever slept on. At $152 au a night I wouldn't go back there unless there were some major changes. The staff were great, polite and very helpful. Thats the thai's though they are lovely people.It's a shame cause the location is perfect close to everything.

my family stayed for 5d4n.the first day we arrived, the staff already had problems with us. they were pretty rude to us while talking to us, maybe because we're malays or sth. our family had a horrible trip because of this hotel, many mosquitoes in rooms, hotel still under renovation, and the worst part was bad staff, thankfully we could sort it out with the manager, accident hapened n they DEMANDED money from us, not even asking politely. altho good location, i suggest do not choose this hotel, thr are many others along the area cuz we've never experienced such a lousy trip

Room Tip: choose anything better than superior room.

<Excellent service>
- Left my camera on the cab that was arranged by the hotel.
- Alerted the hotel at the airport.
- On the very next day, the hotel emailed me and told me that the camera was found!
- Though slight delay on the courier, the camera came back in perfect condition.
- All staff can speak good English.

<Superb location>
- It's just across the road from the infamous Patong beach.
- Plenty of shops, restaurants and massage parlors nearby.
- Around 15-20 mins walk to Jungceylon Shopping Complex.

<Restaurant & Live band>
- Very nice food served at the restaurant. Had dinner there on both nights.
- Can enjoy the sea breeze at the same time, since it's just across the road.
- 1-for-1 cocktail throughout the day. Absolutely worth-it!
- Good service from the waiters.

<Facilities>
- Huge swimming pool with jacuzzi.
- Some rooms even have pool access.
- Free mini bar, refillable everyday.

The only bad part I encountered is the mosquitoes in the room. Guess it can be eliminated with well-prepared insect repellent. =)

Room Tip: Request for new wing with direct pool access

v were 3 couples with 3 children and stayed there fro 4 nights.
the hotel is very well located,every thing is at a walking distance from the hotel,mall,bangla street,resturants etc.
the best part of the location is that its on the beach front and everthing is just one lane away.
v had 2 ooms in the old wing which were pretty big and clean but a bit dated.
the other room was a pool touch in the new wing which was very nice room coz it was the new wing.
the breakfast was pretty good.not much of a choice for veg,dont abt meals coz v never had one there.
all the 3 rooms had a free mini bar for all the days,which was refilled pretty frequently
everything was good but there was something missing.the genral area of the hotel was not well kept,some upgrading work is going on.
if i come back to phuket iwll come back n stay in tyhis hotel
for india food plz visit hot curry just behind the hotel

Room Tip: book urself in the new wing pool n beach facing
