“Good location - reasonable rates - would stay again!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2012

I just got back from staying a week at the Expat. The only shame was the pool was closed for the majority. I do have to thank Aung for compensating us for the inconvience - very good compromise. I ate most of my meals there and found them to be well priced, good portions and of a tasty standard. There taxi service was excellent - on time and very clean car with polite drivers. However, you need to book in advance. The rooms were of a good size - had the pool balcony room. They had some services nearby - hairdresser and laundry that I used. Very good prices and quality. A very comfortable stay - just what I wanted. Many Thanks!

Room Tip: Pool room was very good, just a shame about the renovations!

Correct room without more, rather nice staff; very pleasant swimming pool. Attention however if you pay your drinks or meal as one goes along, to demand indeed the double of your bill indicating your payment; I indeed had the unpleasant surprise to see charging at the end of stay some some nevertheless paid well (for about twenty euro). But go to find at the time of your departure the person to whom you paid two or three days previously...

Loved it.. I stayed in a poolside room, the bed was comfortable, the air conditioner was excellent and the shower hot! The location is excellent, so close to Bangla but so quiet! The staff were just wonderful. I did think the price was a bit high... but, after reading other reviews, maybe I am wrong on that count. I'd definitely go back here!

Excellent reasonably priced hotel close to Bangla Road yet in a quiet location. Prices are about £25 per night for the best rooms in low season. These have a balcony by the pool. The beds are comfortable and roomy and the bathroom is a walk in wet room. Very clean and the staff are friendly. What more could you ask for. High season the prices are still only about £30 per night at the most. The prices are even cheaper for the more basic rooms without a poolside balcony. Very relaxed and easy going hotel. Guests are welcome and for no extra charge.

The Expat Hotel is the only place I will ever stay when visiting Phuket. Right from the day we made a reservation we somehow knew we were going to the right place for our first visit to Phuket. When we arrived with the minibus arranged by the reservation department at 10:00 p.m. it surprised us. We feel completely secluded from the hustle and bustle of the Patong nightlife which is just a few meters away......unbelievable. At the reception the welcoming smile of the staffs touched our hearts, From the receptionist to room maids and the waitresses at the restaurant the staffs were wonderful and very attentive. We asked for help making reservations for our various tours and they quickly took care of the it. I would really struggle to think of any negative feedback over the 4 days we were there. We only had one annoying thing though. One group of middle eastern guys was there for 2 days and were chatting noisily while everyone else was sleeping. We are hoping to go back later this year, but this time with friends. We want to proudly show them our finding..I echo all of the great reviews below. It's an absolutely incredible place to stay!

Room Tip: Loved the Poolside rooms

I stayed here earlier this month for 3 days.

Very comfortable room, friendly staff from reception to room maids.
Restuarant food was good and reasonably priced with a nice outside setting and great pool.

I can see why this hotel has achieved an excellent status, it ticks all the boxes.
I would definately stay here again in the future.

Every Saturday night at 7.30 for 190 baht (Australian $6) you can enjoy a great BBQ and salads at the Ex Pat Hotel in Patong. Heaps to eat, pool tables and a great location. Less than 3 minutes from Bangla Road. We've been there a few times, and now make it our Saturday night spot for dinner and drinks. Give it a go!
