5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012 via mobile

We stayed for 10 nights at baan boa, and we will come back. Staff was very helpfull and kind, service 10 out of 10. The hotel is not that big but its very cosy and a good atmosphere, the rooms are clean and big, only minus is the beds are quite hard to sleep on. Location is perfect 10 minutes walk from bangala street and jungceylon shopping center, the hotel is located at thw quite end of the beach, no diskos or bars and drunk people at all. We will be back at baan boa for sure.

Our review is unfortunately tainted as we were ripped off with this hotel. Although friendly and courteous we were disappointed when we saw our room. We had much better accommodation whilst in Bangkok for the same price and when arriving we were told no sea view, bed was like a rock and the venue average. We then went to review the price we had paid and found that we got ripped off when we purchased from their agent at the airport. Not impressed. The location is close to the beach but there are many other hotels in the street that fit that bill.

On the whole a pleasant stay ,but even in low season overpriced ,we had breakfast included in price but to be honest not up to much very limited variety compared to European hotels. We had deluxe sea view room wasn't what I would call deluxe as stayed in three star hotels in Europe with same facilities, plus not very soundproof at night as you could hear all tuk tuks and taxis with music blaring out till early hours. On the plus side rooms cleaned everyday and fresh towels, they even provide you with beach towels at reception thus saving on packing any.It is located at quieter end of Patong and you need to use tuk tuk to get to Bangla road as it is a fair walk in 33 degree heat average price 200 baht. The thing We found most expensive is drinking a lot dearer than drinking in England at around £2.50--£3.0 a bottle depending where you are. Food on the other hand is quite cheap average 150 baht for Thai food.,lots of well known places to eat ,subway, burger king, macdonalds.I would highly recommend a trip round the islands as it good value for money and we had a most memorable day we chartered a speedboat for 10 and it worked out around £38.00 each with lunch and drinks included and we were able to determine where and which islands to see .

I stayed there April 2012. Location is excellent; quiet part of Patong facing to the sea, but still near to everything. Service was friendly and professional. We happened to have tsunami warning during my stay. Staff took really good care of clients, everything was well organisized.

My partner and I stayed here for 6 days. Location wise, it is more for travelers whom prefer a quieter side of Patong. Not exactly 2-5 mins walk from the main area. 10 mins I would say. (Imagine having to walk all the way back from the main area after a whole day of activities. We took quite a few trips of tutuk back during our stay.)

Check-in process was okay. No elevators. Staffs' service are so-so. Their English was quite poor that we had a hard time communicating with them.

Room:
- Spacious.
- No water boiler or iron. Got to call the reception to send it to you (waiting time is quite long).
- Poor soundproof walls. Next-door-neighbour had an argument with some Thai chicks during the wee hours and we can hear every word. No staffs came to stop the argument but only did so after we complained.
- Bathroom wise, it is okay. But the water quality is poor. It is not even clear. Kind of 'yellowish?'. I had itchy bumps growing on my arms after that.

Breakfast:
- Terrible. Limited choices, cold dishes (other than the freshly cooked omelette).

Well... I would not recommend this hotel to other travelers.

We actually stayed here quite a while ago, so maybe there have been some upgrades.
:-) The facility is located at the south end of Patong Beach.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room we had came with a balcony overlooking the pool which was very clean. Beautiful sunset visible over the water on the Andaman Sea view side. Many international singles seemed to stay here at the time, so if traveling solo, you can always hook up with new friends. The room itself had very typical simple furnishings, i.e. king size bed, dresser, closet, and the air in the room was kind of damp and a little musty due to the location, but it was bearable and you can open the door to the balcony if you want. The bedding was clean and housekeeping did a good job when they came in to clean the room. The a/c worked very well. The bathroom was adequate, but it appeared that the water was actually salt water that was being used. (i.e. taste and feeling) Bottled water is available and there is a Seven Eleven right next door that is open 24 hours. We always carry our valuables with us when we travel, which isn't much, so there was nothing missing from what we left behind when exploring.

There is internet access down by the reception desk but I forget the price. Its affordable though, nothing crazy. There is a small restaurant down in the pool area so you can eat and drink on the premises. I bought this as a travel package so we had breakfast / meal coupons we used. You are also close enough to a lot of others places to eat, you just have to walk a bit, five or ten minutes. I liked being so close to the beach which was right across the street from the motel. (I consider this place more of a motel than a resort, fyi). There are also tours you can take that you can arrange at the motel or at kiosks nearby. We went to James Bond Island and the "Fantasea" Show which we both enjoyed.

I would stay here again if I had the chance, its not bad and its comfortable, but my wife prefers Baan Sukhothai on Bangla Road because she wasn't too happy with the salty shower water and she is not really a beach person. Something to think about if you want to stay here and have sensitive skin. Like I said, this was a while back and they may have made improvements by now.
