Just returned from 12 days in Phuket, Thailand. Our first stay for 4 nights was at Deevana resort in Patong. The location of this hotel was great for us, as it was about a 15 minute walk from Bangla Road - the heart of Patong, so close enough to the action and the shops, but far away enough to avoid too much hustle and bustle, and was great to come back to at the end of a long day!

Our room was a standard room in the garden wing, however was right outside the pool as well, due to the quiet season at the resort. The room was always clean, with a BIG bathroom, and suited our needs just fine!

The service was lovely, all the reception/bell/restaurant staff were always smiling and freindly, and definetly made us feel a bit more at ease at it was our first time in Phuket!

The breakfasts were good too, lots of variety - especially for me, someone who rarely eats much of a breakfasts - and I found the omelettes in Thailand a favourite!

Not many mosquitoes - not as many as I'd been prepared for after reading some other reviews, but lots of cats and kittens who loved to follow us around and to our door each night!

The Hi-Pub was good, always quiet, and always offering cheap quality food and cocktails, which was great when we didn't have the energy to walk out of our hotel to find a restaurant! And the pools were always clean and LOVELy to swim in on some of the hot days.

Overall a fantastic resort, and would definetly stay there again! :)

Just returned from holiday in Thailand and was fortunate enough to be accommodated in a superior room within the spa wing of the Deevana Hotel and Spa. The hotel is located back from the main strip in Patong, approximately 5-10 mins walk from Patong beach. This I found to be a good thing as the hotel is located away from the bustle of the resort but within walking distance of it.

The main part of the hotel was in an excellent state of repair, smartly presented and clean. Staff wore traditional Thai dress and were polite and courteous throughout my stay. The pools and surrounding areas were clean and not crowded, offering a quiet alternative to the relatively busy Patong beach.

Rooms are furnished with aircon, tv, fridge, a free-to-use small safety deposit box (ideal for money, passports, watches etc) and were clean and comfortable. 2 bottles of free drinking water were left in the fridge on a daily basis.

In terms of food I can only comment on the breakfast, which I can't really fault, as the food was good and included a selection of continental and american style dishes. In other words plenty to choose from: cereals, pastries, fruits and fried foods. Breakfast was served outside, but under cover in the 'Dalah Cuisine'.

In sum I would say the hotel is befitting of it's 3plus/4 star rating. A well presented and clean hotel in an ideal location for those who don't want to be located in the hustle of the Patong resort but within walking distance of it.

The resort is nicely hidden from the buzz, and presents itself nicely.

Breakfast is not awfull, but not great either. We did not have dinner at the resort, so I cannot comment on this.

I requested a non-smoking room, only to be booked into a nicotene nest. This was rectified, but we had to do with a twin bed room...not what we expected for a honeymoon.

The pool is not bad at all, but we found that there were a lack of waiters around the pool area.

So was I impressed with Deevana Resort? No, not really. There are many resorts that's hidden away from the buzz, and I will certainly not return here. Deevana tries to be a Holiday Inn, but sadly falls short.

I liked the resort for it's space and greenery. It has two swimming pools and the rooms are spread around the compound. There is generally a relaxed atmosphere.

Most other aspects of the hotel I wasn't thrilled with.

The rooms were plain with stained walls and hung with crooked and mis-proportioned pictures. Air conditioning was so so. It had a remote where the display could not be read. Bedsheets were rough. The rubber slippers and beach towels were thoughtful additions. Bathroom was spacious and water pressure was ok.

Breakfast wasn't fantastic for it's lack of variety and quality.

The resort is a long walk to the beach. The hotel should run a beachfront drop off service.

Hotel staff didn't leave any good impression. One of our group's camera was left behind with only the hotel staff around and that was the end of it.
