“Great hotel on noisy patong beach.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2013 via mobile

Very nice hotel. Lovely pool side rooms spacious and clean. Quite limited food options very overpriced breakfast. Bonus is location , short walk outside hotel to a myriad of eating heavens. Only negative is the noise of the band till the wee hours and the fireworks on the beach till all hours. Bring your earplugs!

All staff friendly and courteous especially Tim and Jack at the pool bar late in the afternoon while cooling down with a cocktail after the days outdoor activities
Rooms were always clean, Hotel is in great location, Breakfast Ok but we mostly ate outside hotel, we would definitely recommend to stay here.

Only improvement i would recommend is wall mounted fans in the lobby area to assist with the heat and the staff while you are checking in or out at reception

We booked the hotel direct with the resort 4 months before travelling (was that our mistake?), an email arrived 3 weeks before arriving mentioning 'due to the overbooking situation' and asking for the first nights money, we paid and asked for a guarantee of the booking, which they emailed back.
On arrival, no room at the BanThai was available for the first 3 nights, this was also same for our friends who had booked separately. They supplied another hotel, transfers and wifi and return taxi to the airport but we lived out of suitcases for 3 days out of the 10 booked, what could we do, who could we complain to? Not nice and I imagine common practice? I wish we had booked through a booking website so that we could have complained to someone and had some backup.
Patong is very lively and quite overwhelming. The hotel is in a good position for the beach and it is a beautiful beach and set back enough to be without street noise.
The walls were a bit thin and tv noise came through from next door. The fridge was a cheap compression fridge type and noisy so had to be switched off at night and on in the morning. Breakfast was good but as the hotel is large, they seemed to be busy at certain times especially on the egg stand (perhaps pre-stage some fried eggs) after waiting, some of the other items could run out which meant the eggs went cold, as we were paying top dollar for it, we did not expect that.
Front desk staff smiles but also could appear a little curt, friendly bar staff and maid service and rooms kept clean but a little tired. Most of the rooms overlook each other so not too much of a view.

Beautiful rooms, amazing pools with bars, friendly staff and amazing atmosphere. Close to main beaches, massage, food and shopping. Party central walking distance away and cheap everything! Overall a great place to stay! Will be coming back again soon. :) :)

We spent new years at the Banthai and loved every minute. We stayed in the pool terrace room which was very relaxing, at times it could get noisy given your room is attached to the pool area but this did not bother us. The service was fantastic and the rooms were very clean.

All tours were booked through our hotel and picked us up from the lobby which was convenient and there was lots of restaurants and bars within a 2 min walking distance. Bangla road was also just a 5 minute walk and lots of fun. If you wanted a secluded hotel away from the hustle and bustle this isn't the place for you, yet the hotel was set right back so I believed we had the best of both worlds.

Location is amazing, the pool is amazing and the beer and breakfast outdoor is great to set you up in the mood.

I can strongly recommend for couples and families.
Very close to the Patong hustle and bustle but because of the design is amazingly calm an serene in atmosphere.

Room Tip: we stayed in the annex building and had pool view.
