Stunning resort, everything is gorgeous. Staff are wonderful - our airport transfer was running an hour late and they were very helpful in chasing it up and remonstrating with the driver when he finally arrived.
It's a little bit out of paging so you don't get the smell but its only 200baht to get into town. They also have free shuttles to their sister resort in town.
Cannot recommend this highly enough! We will return for sure.

As a well travelled travellers we stayed booked in here as wedding guests. We stayed a week. The hotel room we had looked like the one on the website promo photos. Quiet, staff helpful, great value, cannot say enough nice things about the resort. 300 TB $9AUD) from Patong Beach. Great to stay a few km out of Patong as peaceful. Lots of Aussies at the hotel.

Room Tip: Ground floor for swim from room to pool. We did not book a beach room but still had a fantastic view...

We spent 8 nights here and had an absolute ball! It may have had something to do with the fact we were there to get married!
Check in was smooth and easy and after the long windy drive in from the airport I wasn't feeling great, so the cold drink, cold towel and seat while the staff handled the check in was very welcomed!
Counter staff were awesome, between the 45 or so of us staying there for our wedding many messages were sent around between us all and almost all went through! They even helped us book a restaurant in town for 45 of us the night before our wedding!
This resort is just gorgeous, the pools are huge and awesome and despite the many arrogant european travellers in Thailand at this time of year, plenty of sun lounges to go around! The staff were lovely, every staff member we met had a smile for us and couldn't do any more to help with any of our requests, in fact some of our guests became such regulars at the swim up bar the boys there knew our room numbers!!
We stayed in a Premium Beachfront Room, we splurged as we were there for our wedding, but apart from the view (which was ok, but not really anything to rave about since we were right down the far end of the beach, overlooking a stage) the room was no different to our other guests who just paid for the standard room, so I would say unless you can request one with a bit of a better view, I wouldn't pay for the Premium Beachfront again.

Cocktails and lunch in the pool and in the lobby at happy hour went down a treat and we were pleasantly suprised at our bill at the end of the 8 nights after it all!

The free shuttle into town is convenient in the morning, we mostly caught that in to do a little shopping, but going in at 4.45pm, then not till 9pm in the afternoon/evenings was not very helpful, so we mostly got taxis, which between a group of us was never too bad, 250TBH into town, 300TBH back depending on how many people you had or if you wanted a 'doof doof tuk tuk.'

As part of our wedding package we had dinner at their 'On the Sea' restaurant at the back of the resort, that was lovely, western food, but really really yummy and great service with a lovely bottle of champagne to go along with it!

As everyone says, the beach out the back is not really swimmable sue to rocks, but with pools this awesome, who needs the beach right!? Also amazing massages from the ladies at the back of the beach, looking at the beach, go to the ladies on the right....300TBH for an hour of complete bliss!

All in all we had an amazing time and can't wait to come back!

I have been to Phuket a few time now and I must say that the Merlin Beach Resort
is the best accomadtion that I have ever had, food was great the beds were so comfy, the rooms very clean, the people so happy and help full, private beach and so many pools.
I had a pool room and its was fantastic you swim straight into your room.
The entertainment they have at the Resort is so funny, great place for Familys with young kids.
I have stayed at other Resorts in Phuket but I must say none came close to this Resort.
Well done Merlin Beach Resort, keep up the great work.
Cheers Monica Mansbridge

We have just returned from our second stay at the Merlin Beach Resort and the whole experience was again excellent. We had a deluxe ground floor pool view room which we requested from our previous stay. The room was spacious, well air conditioned and cleaned beautifully every day.The bed was super comfortable and the room was dark so no early morning sunshine streaming in.We travelled with a group of friends for a wedding at another location who had not previously stayed at this resort and all were impressed. The resort was quite busy with 2 weddings and a large conference but we didnt have any difficulty finding a breakfast table or pool beds for our group of 10. Breakfast was well catered for with no complaints and we also ate at the La Gondola italian restaurant at the resort which was a lovely change from the constant Thai cuisine. The lobby bar happy hours are also great value for money ( buy one get one free) with very friendly and accomodating staff, a band and a great place for pre and post dinner cocktails. The free shuttle is a plus as it can get a bit expensive paying for cars and tuk tuk's to go into Patong each day, if you want to shop or sightsee. There are 2 other restaurants within walking distance outside the hotel that are very good. The minus is there is only free wifi ( that is very slow) in the lobby and no where else in the hotel unless you pay and you also have to pay for green tea at breakfast which is only a tea bag which surprises me for an Asian resort. But overall a great resort away from the hustle and bustle of busy patong. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will return again.

Room Tip: While there is one lift if you dont like walking up and down up to 4 flights of stairs I would recom...

We stayed at this resort in September last year for our anniversary. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a poolside room which was nice but if you didn't get up early and put your towel on a bed opposite your room people would come from all over the hotel to use the pool. Noisy kids etc so we were glad we didn't pay for the upgrade. We found some staff to be very nice but others quite indifferent. Most mornings we had to ask for a table to be cleared for breakfast because it was very busy. I had a spa treatment but basically had to tell the young girl what to do and when i asked for a pillow to go under my knees as i had a bad back they couldn't find one so i just suffered in silence, the breakfast was the best bit food wise, the rest was very average. The best meal we had was at a Curry restaurant in town just down from the Hard Rock Cafe (we had a meal there too and it was rubbish), the restaurant was owned by the tailor where I had two lovely suits made for work. At night walking down the main street you are constantly asked if you want to go and see a Ping Pong Show or groups of women were trying to coerce my husband in for a massage. Shopping was quite good but after a while it's just alot of the same thing.
