“Good Thai food and a good price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

Very good quality Thai food and very well priced. Great green curry. My wife's prawn salad was nice and fresh with great herbs.

“My First Stop in Patong”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2012

Lair Lay Tong is always my first dinner stop in Patong, and I usually return several times during my stay. It's located at the end of the Soi that also houses the vastly overrated Sea Hag, and in my opinion, Lair Lay Tong is by far the better restaurant of the two. Better food, more pleasant atmosphere, and much better service. Also, the prices at Lair Lay Tong are much lower!

Over the years, I've been eating my way through the huge menu, and have never been disappointed. I always order the restaurant's signature dish, which happens to not be Thai at all: a dish of mussels prepared like French escargots. It's irresistible, as are the prawns wrapped in crispy noodles. But even something as simple as stir-fried Morning Glory somehow manages to be remarkable here.

Add the warm, friendly service, and the quiet location at the end of the Soi, and you have a near-perfect dinner experience.
