Booked on line for lower rate at this '5 star' hotel for two rooms. Beautiful location right in the middle of Patong Beach, on the beach, but the hotel restaurant/club was extremely noisy. Be sure to bring your own ear plugs and mosquito bug spray.
I would recommend staying further down the road across from beach to avoid the noise. Also, the entire experience wasn't up to 5 star treatment. Although, the breakfast buffet was one of the better ones I have experienced.
I've stay at both the Amanpuri and Le Meriden and both were superior in terms of amenities and quite locations. But if you don't mind noise (loud music, hotel workers sweeping and walking around at 6:30 am outside your doors, carts rolling around, etc), and you want to be close to Phuket shopping and night markets, than this will be a good choice for you.

I stayed at the Impiana Phuket Cabana Hotel for one night on my way to Phi Phi Island in February. I selected this hotel based on the Trip Advisor reviews, location and the fact that I would be checking in after an almost 24 hour flight from NY and wanted a nice place to rest. I highly recommend spending the extra money and booking a deluxe room and or requesting a room near the beach. I booked a normal superior room and it was right next to the road. All night long I could hear diesel motor bikes and taxi's zooming by. Also, for some reason they only have hard pillows that are huge. I guess most people don't mind but I'm use to a soft pillow and when I requested one they could not find any. Besides my room's proximity to the road and my pillow this hotel was very nice. It has a great pool, is right on the beach and the staff is very nice. If I had stayed longer I would have defiantly switched rooms and stayed further from the road...then it would have been perfect.

For my first ever trip overseas I couldn't have choosen a nicer resort. The Impiana Cabana has excellent services, a lovely setting and friendly staff. Even the security guards help by stopping all traffic so you can cross the very busy road that leads to Bangla road and the markets.

I loved the room as it was decorated with thai wood wall hangings and a bathroom that has room to really move around, stunning views of patong beach from the pool area and restaurant.
One thing I really loved was breakfast after our (myself and daughters) first morning dinning and ordering coffee and juice, every other morning they gave us the same table out on the deck overlooking the ocean and had the juice and coffee pouring as we walked in the door! We felt very spoilt!
We also experienced winding rainy weather, but we did go in the off season and there was 3-4 days of sunshine and high humidity out of 7.
Tuk tuk's down to bangla road cost around $5.00 Aus and are well worth it especially after have a foot massage for $10.00 aus no point in spoiling the luxury by walking back to the hotel. The Security guard out the front of the hotel will hail a tuk tuk for you if you don't feel up to picking which one?? There's plenty of them just make sure you get a set price before jumping in. The pool at the resort is smaller than I would have imagined before going, but they have pool side service and it's very clean, sprucking by the locals is left to Patong beach the security makes sure no sellers enter the resort but if you choose a lounge chair by the beach, be prepared for the locals to continualy ask you if you want your nails done, your hair done, massage or if you'd like to buy a sarong. I would highly recommend this resort for couples and older people.

the best beach in the world is patong beach and these hotel is close to the beach but the pool is too small!
