“Best gym in Patong, please note change of address!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

Just to inform that the premises have moved to corner Thaweewong and Sawatdirak Road,Loma Park on Patong beach. The gym at J.J. Plaza has closed down,so please take note.

The gym is air conditioned, but not very cold. One must have a shirt on and towel to wipe down sweat. This gym has many machines for total body workouts and an extensive free weights area. Classes offered are Yoga,Crossfit,Zumba for non martial art enthusiasts. For martial arts, they have Muay Thai,MMA and Boxing offered. There are various packages charged, and you can ask them via their facebook page.

I took the muaythai group classes as well as the personal training one on one muaythai sessions and was pleased. They had three experienced muaythai trainer/fighters to conduct the class. I strongly suggest you to bring your own glove and handwrap, but the gym does provide them for walk ins. Complimentary usage of the gym weights section was offered with my muaythai sessions. I couldnt ask for more!! Opening business hours were good, from 7am -11pm..shows how serious they are about exercise.

The locker and towels can be rented out for a minimal deposit. They have sauna and steam bath facilities and that was great. Shower cubicles were clean, supplied with shampoo and shower gel. I found the gym well maintained and clean. Thumbs up!

“Thai Boxing Classes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

I decided to try a personal one on one thai boxing class. Love it, my instructor named Koth was fantastic. Anyone want ing a little exercise and fun while on holidays I would highly recommend Maximum Fitness as this gym over looks the beach and makes the most of the sea breeze.

“Decent gym, facilities, and teachers but....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

My friend and I paid for separate 90-minute private boxing lessons and each got just a little over 60 minutes. Make sure you watch your time carefully. Also, bring your own gloves and tape if you can.

“Old and Tired”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

Cardio equipment was clunky and free weights etc showed signs of age. Avoid if you want air conditioning or acclimatise first.

“only decent gym in Patong”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

It was cheap to go and all equipment was near new with a clean setting with proper gym floors. The gym staff were great - the manager especially went out of his way to help set us up when we wanted to work out.
