“Breathtaking View”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

I wasn’t quite sure when I booked this hotel for 3 nights but the moment I entered our room, I could just say “wow”. The view from the window was breathtaking. Our deluxe room was huge, clean, with a big bathroom, and separate shower area (would have appreciated it more if the separation between room and bathroom was not transparent). The room had a balcony too. The pool and private beach was lovely. The breakfast was tasty, had a lot of variety and was served with a cute smile by Tani Pon (Hope I got the name right :) ). The location is very quiet and serene. However, the hotel is not in Patong, its on Tri Trang beach, 10-15 mins away from Patong, up the hill. Hotel provides free shuttle service, last one from Patong being at 6:30PM. One more thing to be noticed is that they do not provide dinner. So, you will have to arrange it from outside. We were not informed about this during check in and hence faced some problem on our first day of stay. If you miss the shuttle a tuk-tuk or taxi would cost you 300 THB from Patong (Jungceylon) area to hotel. Also, keep a universal adapter handy. We would definitely go back to the hotel.

At first I wasn't sure if I would like this hotel? But I came to appreciate the huge room, the sea view and the sense that I was the only guest in the place. The only criticisms are the glass separating the bathroom with bedroom, you can see clearly somebody sitting on the toilet, so be aware of this if you are sharing and value your privacy. Also shuttle service is not frequent enough, if you miss it you have to wait 2 hours for the next one. Also restaurant space looks run down and in need of repair, but only had breakfast there a couple of times. Highlights were the double bed very comfortable and the tropical ambience - lots of sounds day and night. Overall a great deal considering hotels in patong this close to the beach would cost alot more!

The moment we arrived, the staff has welcomed us extremely well. We arrived at 9am and they allowed us to check in. All our request are entertained very well and the staff are very friendly. We enjoyed our stay truly because of the service quality delivered by all the staff in the hotel. Thumbs up.

There are two Blue Ocean, where we stayed was at Tri Trang and we found that the location of the hotel is very far. A tuk-tuk one way would cost us Thb400 without negotiating or arguing. Thank God that the hotel provided shuttle services however its limited up to 1830hours. We were disappointed especially after partying till the wee hours, worried on our transport back. Its located behind the hill tops in which if you look via a map it shows its nearby however to enter the hotel you surely need a tuk-tuk or shuttle

Overall its a beautiful quiet deserted hotel, in summary. People are friendly, hotel is very quiet, no wifi, lack of full amenities hotel standard-however what we loved the most was the level of service given by the hotel team. Kudos to them!!

I feel really bad about this hotel, I believe that it could have been a lot more amazing had the staff and management had cared more about its patrons. The view is spectacular and having a private beach was a definite plus, but that was just about the only thing worth going for.

And then it all started, the bathtub had dead moths in it and when we tried taking the extra pillow from the cupboards it was very dirty.

Secondly, we tried ordering room service at 6pm but were informed the room service was closed. We had to go to the restaurant in the hotel nearby that was charging 650 baht for a buffet and a show and everything else was really expensive. It would have been worth it if we were starving, but we weren't too hungry. When we refused the buffet we were carted off to a corner and pretty much almost ignored. On another note, the next day I ordered a beef burger which came an hour later. It was cold, the bun was on very old bread and the beef didn't taste safe. We only finished the fries.

Thirdly, we were severely bitten by bed bugs. We tried sorting this out with the hotel but there was only one girl at reception who only wanted to spray our rooms. And then she said that the hotel was full and we could not get our rooms changed. After calling Agoda, we were informed that we could have gotten a room change to the bigger hotel next door but when I showed the email to the receptionist she kept saying check out, check out so we decided to check out instead. We then had to pay for hotel transfer as well, they refused to call a metered cab for us too. This whole affair took 3 hours of trying to organise and negotiate with Agoda and hotel management and quite obviously being cursed at in another language.

It has quite severely impacted our holiday as we spent the rest of our holiday itching and feeling extremely sorry for ourselves. We were only refunded one nights stay, with no apology or reparation. We have tried sorting this out but both Agoda and the hotel have ignored us. By the way, the pictures were taken in the hotel lobby during that 3 hour debacle while we were getting cursed at.

These people own 2 resorts and there is a 3rd hotel named the same in patong ......I stayed in the tri tang resort for 2 days before being transfered to the main resort in main area of Patong. Their Tri tang resort ( 5 min from patong centre ) had the most beautiful view and a private beach ....but staff were shocking ...rude to the ex stream and rooms need a real good clean ...such a pity as this property is a gem !!!! Little tlc , clean and staff change and I would say it would be one of patongs best..... Toilet overflowed 2x in day and was rudely told how to use a toilet ( think after 36 years I know how to go to toilet )told no toilet paper in toilet and must use the hose next to toilet ....sorry I am not a Muslim and dont use that after using toilet thanks. After toilet was unblocked for 2nd time they wiped up the floor with a towel and wanted to leave ....sorry mop the floor with a disinfectant thanks ...huge fight to get that done and then shock of shock the house keeping lady uses the water out the toilet to mop the floor ......sis !!!! Was so pissed off and demanded to speak to owner of the resort ....2 hour fight and they got him on phone .....moved to their other resort in town .....owner very friendly and accommodating....given one of the best room in the hotel .......( upgrade ) room yes... view a def no no and was moved again as the room was booked 2 days later to an even better room . Hotel very nice ...quite unless house keeping the floor above starts moving furnishing at 7 am , good location and housekeeping here does things right ....Think I would stay again and rate a bit better had I not been moved 3 times ....any problems ....demand to speak to owner ...very helpful .....close walk 10 min from bugla rd and shopping centre and in quite area .....tip if light sleeper book on 7th floor 703 - 705 best rooms

Room Tip: 703 -705 or 403 or 404
