“Back To Phuket”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

This was my thrid trip to Phuket but the first for my new wife. I must admit that Phuket has become far to expensive now and is pricing itself out of the Asian holiday market. It is actually cheaper in the capital than it is in Phuket. That is very dissapointing. The hotel itself represented good value for money, perfectly located, very well equiped with excellent staff. Prices at the pool bar are over the top but still that is expected in resort type establishments. Massive pool area which provides the center piece of the hotel.
I have no plans to return to Phuket but if we ever did, we would certainly stay here again.

Dear Craigie,

Thank you for your kind review and sorry that you have been disappointed with the pricing of Phuket

Our Pool bar menu prices start from (as of Oct’13) THB 200 (AUD 6.5) for a Margherita Pizza, Beef Burger or Spaghetti Carbonara, for example. During Happy Hours, Beer can be purchased at an amazing AUD 2.75 a bottle. All our Food and Beverage are competitive to reflect our central location, in middle of Patong.

Please do let us k now if you return to Phuket and I will ensure we properly introduce our many promotions and offers

With the kindest regards

Recently we traveled with a group of friends and stayed at this new hotel.

We ended up being pretty sick and had to spend a bit of time in the room and these are some of the things we picked up on while staying here.

-There is no run off for water (they did provide a squeegee for us to do it) However members of our group did slip over.
- Shinny tiled surfaces also attributed to the dangers of water not being able to drain away.
- Twice electricity wouldn't work in our room, both times after extremely long days.
- The walls are thin, making it easy to hear whats going on in the rooms next to you.
- Tiling in the bathrooms was failing with moldy areas and tiles coming off the walls.
- The bath wouldn't drain because the plug was stuck.
- Because of the openness of the walkways, in some areas they had plastic awnings, that were never tied in correctly so if a bit of wind got up, they would bang all night. Even after this was reported we had to tie them off ourselves because nothing was done about the issue.

Overall we would never stay here again or not recommend anyone stay here. Staff were friendly and accommodating but that's about the only thing the establishment has going for it.

Dear Nova,

Your review is quite harsh and, I will appreciate if you could contact me directly at herve.duprat@accor.com to discuss further.

As the matter of fact, and since we have no records of Guests being sick in our resort, I believe that you probably got sick prior to checking in. Once again, it would be much better to clear this up before having those “allegations” published to the general public.

The other points you mentioned about maintenance will also need more explanations as we are unsure of what exactly went wrong. Since we are doing some defect work in our premise we think that might be the cause of the problem and we are sorry for any inconvenience caused

The entire staff member works tirelessly to provide quality service and thank you for mentioning that you found our staff friendly and accommodating, but your severe rating will definitely, and unnecessarily, affect the moral of the whole team.

As mentioned previously, I would like to have more details and to this end, please feel free to contact me.

Hope to get a chance to know more about your experience

With the kindest regards

Just returned from the Novotel. Family and I had a great time. Pool was massive and just the right temperature. My son loved swimming during the monsoonal rains. The rooms were large and spacious. We had a lovely view over the pool. Staff were extremely friendly and always eager to assist. I would recommend utilising the in house tour guide and personal driver hire. There was some renovations going on but noise and disturbance kept to a minimum. The buffet breakfast had a large range to choose from with a selection of European and Asian foods. In the evening we dined several times at the in house restaurant which though quiet offered some superb flavours. The pool bar staff were friendly and always ensured your drink was topped up.
I would highly recommend the Novotel to anyone planning a trip to Patong. It is close to the hustle and bustle but far enough out to enable secluded relaxation.

Room Tip: All rooms have pool views and air conditioning. The ground floor rooms with private spa pool looked...

Dear Ronnie,

Thanks a lot for your very positive feedback and thank you for not having blamed us for the weather!

I am happy that your whole family had a great time, especially your son who enjoyed the pool so much, no matter what. True enough monsoon rains are usually passing quickly and most of the time only in the evening.

Our staff will feel great to know that they have provided you such an outstanding and friendly service

I hope you will visit us again and do not hesitate to contact us to know more about our Pool Access special promotions.

With the kindest regards

Stayed here 6 nights in a deluxe room in the recently renovated Novotel Phuket Vintage Park. I arrived early again and it took 2 hours for my room to be ready .Whilst I waited I got a welcome drink & a cool towelette to freshen up. The lobby area was beautiful extremely Thai-esque.
My room was on the 5th floor and long a walk from the lift but had a nice view from the balcony of the pool below. Comfy double bed, standard bathroom with shower stalls only. Small sitting area inside the room near the balcony door. Free Wifi in the room & throughout the hotel. Housekeeping staff were great, very friendly & helpful.
Breakfast was the usual spread with an ‘Egg Station’. Barbeque Dinner Buffet though was quite disappointing .The lobby Bar was nice but quite hot because it was an open air lobby & there were not enough fans but the service & cocktails were wonderful. There is a convenient store in the lobby that had very limited choices but prices were the same as 7/11.
The Pool Area was the best part of the hotel. Huge 2000 sq m with a couple islands & several pool access rooms along the side. There is a large swim up bar where I spent a couple of afternoons enjoying ‘Happy Hour’ served by friendly staff.
The Road in front and a little to right of the hotel leads to the Beach which is a 7min walk. Bangla Rd & JungCeylon Shopping Centre are a 15 min walk straight down Rat-u-Thit Rd from the hotel. In front,to the right & left of the hotel are several shops, massage parlours, bars, clubs, restaurants, money changers, travel agencies & convenient stores.
I would stay here again!

The Novotel Vintage Park Patong is located at a very convenient area in the main road, it is close to most major activities in the Patong area, only 5-10 minutes walk to the beach, the bar street and shopping mall and Big C is nearby, a lots of seafood, Thai and Indian food restaurants along the main road outside the hotel, Thai massage places and convenience stores are all around. The hotel staffs are all very welcome and friendly, the room is clean and spacious, we are stayed at the sixth floor with the pool view room, the swimming pool is just a huge and with a relaxing pool side bar that you can easily stay there for a couple of hours.

Room Tip: Rooms on the first floor with access direct to the pool

There are a few Novotels in Phuket. Apparently, we stayed at the most recently developed. It was a great place to relax, walking distance to most things and friendly staff. I was travelling with a friend and we were supplied a King room rather than a twin room. After some effort we managed to relay the message to staff that we wanted what we had booked - a twin share room.
