We found this restaurant by chance and we decided to try it. True the staff was not prepared, the service was no excellent but the food was nice and fresh, especially the steaks!!

“Good place for lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2014

We have had many lunches at Wine Connection in Jungceylon shopping centre and Central Festival shopping centre and I was quite surprised at the prices as we expected their meals and drinks to be very expensive which they were not.

Most of the meals we have had there have been delicious. Service is usually quick and always with a smile. Though we did notice a lot of new staff so sometimes things were a bit slow on our last visit

Their salads are also very good especially the Tuna and Caesar Salads.
Would definitely recommend having a meal here.

“Amazing starter but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2014

Mains just didn't do it for us...

We were walking by the shopping mall and she started to get hungry and my idea was to go have a steak down the road in the a place we saw the night before; but she decided to eat here due to its terrace and nice ambient of people sitting.

We opted for the prawns Spanish style... They are a replica of the famous Gambas Al Ajillo and to be fair they were really nice.... But 2 things killed us... The brought the prawns and we had no sharing plates, we had asked for bread and wasn't on the table yet... 1 minute later while we were finishing our first prawn we received our mains which we never asked for but took them anyway... She had a green fettuccini with goats cheese which was as dry as you can get it and he recommended me a classic chicken cordon blue which the last one I had my mother made it for me 10 years ago and it was dry and nothing special....
Had no appetite for dessert so we got the bill and left...

My recommendation: too many waiters walking around doing everything and lack of communication between them! If you are going to eat in the mall... Walk a bit more there are much better restaurants for the same price near by! Enjoy your meal!

“Pretty good food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2014

We ate at Wine Connection on about 3 different occasions whilst in Phuket, the one in Central at Phuket Town, the one at Jungceylon and the one on the Beach rd in Patong and all 3 locations and meals were good....the pasta was actually homemade which surprised me and it was very good! If you want to sit and have a bottle of wine and a pretty good meal then this is good option by Phuket standards.

“Could be better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2014

very good western ambience, but the service definitely needs improvements considering the price tag. Please watch our when purchasing wine from their outlet (if you intend to drink at the table). There is a minimum applicable of 550 BHT, regardless of the value of the bottle (e.g., if you purchase a bottle worth 300 BHT, you will still pay 550 BHT if you drink it at the table). They also charge 10% service charge in addition to the menu prices.
Food is ok, but nothing particular.
