A long established restaurant clean and basic but with a good selection of meals Thai and European, the speciality of the house is the home made pies they are of excellent quality and very well priced, very good service and a well priced selection of drinks probably best value simple food on the Island.

“Best Full English in town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

Staying in Pa Tong for a bit of R&R, awoke one morning with a craving for a full English breakfast. Perceived wisdom seemed to be that Islander was the place to go. And how!! Proper bacon, cumberland sausage, splendidly fried eggs, fried tomatoes and very generous amounts of baked beans and fried potatoes. Oh, and 2 pieces of toast with butter and jam and a big mug of tea. All for 220 Baht! Very much recommended.

“Good breakfasts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

after going to about 20 different places and eating crap breakfasts all around phuket i decided to google where to find a good breakfast. it led me to this place tucked away off bangla rd.
the bacon tastes like back home.
the bread tastes like bread and isn't that weird tasting rock hard white stuff everywhere else serves.
im not sure how they poached the eggs as they looked a bit different but they were nice to.
they have a selection of different english and aussie style breakfasts. they are very reasonably priced as well about 200 baht give or take depending on what you get.
i will definately be going back.
its amazing how many places have crap breakfasts in patong. i have been here for a long long time and am so happy to have found a decent one.

“Good western food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2012

Allways nice to have a roast dinner or big english breakfast. The daily specials are good value and well presented. Service is pretty slow during the day though.

“When noodles become ho hum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

"When in Rome" I always do as the romans do and enjoy italian food for the duration- but in the orient whilst the food is 'Interesting" to begin with after a while western palates begin to fantasize about steak and kidney pies and roast lamb and mint sauce. If this happens to you, and the need becomes too much to bear head down to soi Bangla, head toward the sea and take the second on the left and there you will find the "Islander Restuarant". I was opened by some poms originally who have since moved on but left recipes with the current owners who have not forgotten a thing!! The steak an kidney pies are the size of tea plates and full of succulent goodies, the pastry is crumbly suet pastry just like mother made. The baked spuds and veg are pure Blighty. and all for 250 baht!! Breakfast is another truckies delight if you have the appetite
