“Good food at restauant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014

We ate at pum's 2 times during our stay in Patong. Overall food was good. We were not impressed by the disorganized service when it was very busy. It didn't seem like people has certain jobs (ie take orders, deliver food, get bills, etc.) so things often fell through crack. Also, just be aware that they will charge a 10% service charge to your bill's total.

“Clean fresh simple and cheap”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014 via mobile

Great no fuss dinner in Patong Beach. Pum is quite a character and her philosophy towards cooking is "do simple, use natural and create beauty". This feels like home cooking!

“Pum's Cooking School”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013

Loved it! I booked in for the class that takes you on a visit to the markets as well as teaching you to cook 3 dishes.

There were only 4 in the class I did, we each got to choose 3 dishes that we wanted to cook. We cooked 1 dish at as time and then shared the end result which meant that we got to sample a wider variety than if we cooked and ate our own efforts. It was interesting when more than one person cooked the same dish because there were variations in the end result which was great.

The staff were lovely and made the experience interesting and fun, we learnt different wok techniques and about combinations of herbs and spices with great company.

I would definitely recommend that you try it for a new experience.

“Average Food / Below Average Service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

Came here based on the excellent reviews on a Sunday night. Food was average, had the green chicken curry (149 baht), pad thai (99 baht), thai ice tea (42 baht). Very affordable with decent portions. Not sure if they were short staffed tonight, but service was extremely slow from getting the menus, the food, and finally the bill. Although the staff was nice, it was disappointing how slow everything was. Good location; allows you to do some people watching on the main road.

“Good food but nothing spectacular”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

Visited this restaurant after it had been reviewed so well and i feel it did not live up to this expectation. There was nothing wrong with the food but there was certainly no wow factor and nothing to remember.
There is a tiny authentic restaurant further up which has a more authentic and more variety. A thai lady running her own kitchen with wonderful delights. I would definitely recommend her over this any day. Sumittra restaurant in the side street of lamai hotel corner. Not commercial at all.
