Previous reviewers of this restaurant have lower expectations than I do, I guess. I ate here twice and review it in the context of a budget eatery:
PROS - on the beach, nice sunset, excellent Thai menu (especially the fried red curry) and inexpensive. If you like Singapore-style food centres where you can eat for just a few dollars then you will like this place and its surroundings (although being by the beach it is still not the cheapest one). Service is fast, efficient and casual. Personally as an adult I can think of better places to be for dinner but this would suit backpackers or those looking for something cheap and cheerful
CONS - the menu is far too large for quality to be manageable (presumably sourced from other nearby restaurants) so predictably the western food is terrible and one guest got food poisoning from the burger (she ate nothing else with us). You will also be hounded by dozens of street hawkers here too - which is fine since most are graceful and less fortunate than us - but one was incredibly rude/persistent (repeatedly punching one of my guests in the arm until being given money to go away) and the Wai Thai staff where absolutely okay with this.
Overall we regretted taking the family here.
