“Big Disappointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2014

booked limburi based on the positive reviews and the pics. and the last time we happen to pass by limburi, we thought the exterior looked pretty nice. we booked for a week stay.

but alas, was disappointed with the hotel. the good review first - staff were nice and good. location is excellent, 5 mins walk to jungceylon and about 10-15mins to patong beach. bed was good. wifi was superb.

now comes the negative review, our room was rundown and sadly, disgusting. the room and furnitures need a new coat of paint.we had to layer the tables with paper when placing our stuff. the door was near faulty. the shower was terrible, and the water jet makes a loud sound when you use it. we tolerated this for two days thinking that if we change rooms it would probably be the same, and happen to see the other rooms when it was being housekept. was surprised to see the opposite room looks clean! feeling dissatisfied, i told the reception about the state of the room, and if we could change to another room. we were told that rooms were full that day and she will try to change for us the next day instead.

we got a change of room (to the third level), which was much better that the previous one. thanks to the staff for arranging this. in addition, do note that there is no elevator in this hotel.

wouldn't recommend this hotel though. you can find better hotels nearby.

Ok. Hotel is very nice and central. Rooms are nicely furnished and clean. Some rooms are a bit noisy so if you are a light sleeper you should ask for a quiet room. Friendly staff and overall a nice experience.

I have been reading reviews about peoples stay at Limburi Hometel and most are positive, for the few negative ones,I would say to remember where in the world you are and keep in mind the price,I found everything to be clean { spotless} the cleaners do an excellent job and are very friendly, the young fella behind the desk down stairs who I named emanual did a great job looking after me,everthing is handy to the location and security was good,I will be traveling to Thailand again early next year and this place will be on my list of places to stay at,well done staff of Limburi Hometel for making my stay with you so pleasant.

Room Tip: stay on lower floor rooms on the street side, upstairs have little light and there are alot of stairs...

I supposed its a budget hotel, but the cleanness of the room is out of expectation. The room provide a clothes hanger for clothes dry off, nice and considerate service.

Though no elevator available in the hotel, but the staffs willing and helpful in assist moving my "tons" luggage up and down from the room. Kind and helpful reception, they offer airport transfer service better and cheaper than taxi on street.

Location is good, next to the big shopping mall, nice spa and night attraction.

Free wifi available, but not stable sometimes.

This place was in a good location 5 minutes from bangla road! Was very noisy at night though rooms need sound proofing! Rooms were ok but were put into a family room up three flights of stairs and it only had tiny windows at the top of the room so felt a bit claustrophobic and absolutely no view! Patong was our least favorite place on our trip very seedy and dirty but definately an experience! Limburi is fine if you just want a no frills clean safe room at good value.

I booked a deluxe room for $60 a night, and in Patong that can sometime get you something pretty nice, depending on the season of course.

Given what I paid, I was disappointed with this place, there's nothing overtly wrong with it, but somehow the rooms look nicer than they actually are in real life.

There is no pool, which wasnt critical to me, but for the money I was surprised, as competitors seem to offer more for the same money (see my review of Deevana and Jang resorts for example).

Nor is there any nice shady sort of spot to sit and relax. There is a rooftop terrace, but it has little in the way of shade or ambience. And it looks out over a busy road, although the view is blocked by the incredible spaghetti like bundling of power cables they have running down the main street

As I mentioned the room was nothing special, again, surprising I thought for the price, just a nondescript motel room that could have been anywhere in the world, whereas a lot of accom I have tried in Patong seems to try for some local colour, regardless of its price or status...this one's decor would be best described as beige, generic, homogenous, inoffensive, (read dull). That lack of local character extends to the public areas.

Staff did nothing to lift this place out of the ordinary either.

In summary, clean, functional, handy to things, but really nothing memorable. I wouldnt go back, given you get better bang for buck elsewhere.

Room Tip: my tip here is to go elsewhere for the same money

LimBuri is a very good option if you want to stop in Patong to have fun: Great position (100 m from Bangla), the rooms aren't noisy at all and have a really good quality/price ratio for Thailand standard. The staff is really kind, helpful and efficient. Go there and don’t worry, you’ll be satisfied!
