“Overpriced, nothing special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

we stayed at this hotel in march with my girlfriend and her family, we booked 3 rooms a week before we arrived, it took a long time to get sorted out at check in and for what we paid , approx. £40 per room, I thought this hotel was overpriced. The pool was ok, but I didn't get that welcome feeling you want from a hotel. I only visit Patong out of necessity and personally dislike this area of Phuket, personally I would not stay at this hotel again.

Had read quite a few negative reviews about Patong Pearl Resortel, but I don’t believe in everything I hear,- or read… Have been a regular tourist in Patong since 1997, and at least I knew that the hotel had a very central location. The beach was at the other end of the block, and it was less than five minutes walk to busy BangLa Road.

Upon arrival the hotel was almost fully booked, so unfortunately I didn’t get a superior room with pool view (as requested). Instead I was assigned a room in the new building (aft). No doubt it was nice, clean and spacious, but I missed having a big(ger) balcony. Besides the beds were a bit too hard. However, after five days they let me move to the old (main) building. The room was smaller, but I didn’t mind. The most important was to have a bigger balcony which I enjoyed the most. The view was nothing to write home about as rooftops and trees blocked the beach, but I knew it was there… And the sunsets were great anyway!

I stayed at Patong Pearl for 17 days, and all staff were nice and helpful from the very beginning. Breakfast buffet was good, and the cook made your eggs according to your wish. The pool was big enough for a swim, and the ”jacuzzi” was activated app. twice an hour. Don’t expect a 5-stars’ resort, cause then you will be disappointed. But if you want to stay in a decent, clean and friendly 3-star hotel the Patong Pearl is a real gem,- and a good choice.

On the downside...
* No free wifi. They charged 1000 bath for 15 days / 600 bath for 7 days / 300 bath for 24 hours.
* Missed dark bread, cheese and yoghurt for breakfast.
* Occasionally not enough sunbeds around the pool. There were only 8 sunbeds, and they should have had 8 more,- at least!

Room Tip: Ask for the new building (aft) if you want a spacious room (with a small balcony facing north east...

went to this resortel for a 4d3n holiday...
was directed to sister hotel as recep claimed no room in patong pearl proper...
wife n i insist on pearl else refund...
they wont refund and made us waited over 2 hours.
Thank God a room was at last 'made available'!
room is clean and respectably well maintained.
balcony overlooking roof tops with no particular view but a non-issue though.
only gripe would be no slippers/toothbrush but thaz to be expected for the price paid...
overall a good experience despite the arrival glitch since the place is so close to patong beach yet away from the very busy road...
the restaurant rite nex to resortel serves up a superb fried noodle but a very lousy phad thai...weird haaa...

Room Tip: insist on the pearl, dont settle for sister hotel...

For the price and location this place is quite good. The staff were friendly - and helpful. The room was well worth the price we paid at PEAK Season (around US$ 100 all up or 85 Euro) inc b'fast. The latter was good for the price including an egg station with cook. The room had been renovated I think (well ask for the back building as there are two), but the pool is small and has no shallow end so not great for kids. You can walk to the beach in 2 minutes and it benefits from being near the public beach (so that's the north end I guess of Patong beach). I think it was quite ok. The room was quite big but outside they had left other guests' dishes on the floor for three full days - still there uncollected when we left. I don;t understand why they can't get Thai staff - even here they had at least one Philippines woman on the front desk.

We stayed here mid November for two nights...the staff were not nice at all actually rude at times, unfortunately we had prepaid so we had to stay there both nights. We had an early morning flight and asked them to book a taxi for us at 4am which they said they would do. Well yes you guessed it no taxi and no staff around at that time so when we were ready to go we had to take everything with us out onto the street and try to find one ourselves. At that time of the morning there aren't too many people around but we were lucky enough to find someone who got us a taxi. We were catching a flight to Myanmar via Bangkok so if we didn't get to the airport in time we could have missed our flights. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and would definitely not stay there again....the staff don't seem to be able to get out of their own way to help paying customers...once they have your money bad luck!!!

No WIFI, the worst service, and bugs in the room.
Not worth the price, stay somewhere else. right next for a demo area. The bathroom is so old and smelly, didnt even want to go in there. Please stay away. Me and my friends went there and we were so disappointed.

First of all this isn't the biggest hotel in Patong but the staff are freindly and helpful, the room was clean, great value for money and an extra bonus is the jacuzzi on the balcony .

Breakfast was good for the size of the hotel

It is in a great location only a few minutes walk Bangla road but you are not disturbed by noise. The beach is lovely and clean which was at the bottom of the road from the hotel. We ate at the restaurants and bars on the beach, the views are amazing when the sun sets.

We watched a thunder storm coming over the mountains from our balcony which was spectacular to watch (my partner decided it was time to get out of the jacuzzi when it came over Patong!!)

I would go back to this hotel as not to big and great service in a good location

Room Tip: book a junior suite room with a jacuzzi, adds that little extra to our holiday
