“Good facilities and a great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

I stayed for 3 nights at DusitD2 in April. The hotel is located close to the Patong beach and attached to Hard Rock Cafe and Hooters (with a nice discount option for F&B). The hotel facilities are top notch. The wifi , the swimming pool were all excellent. The breakfast spread is also really nice with some good vegetarian options. The spa is also excellent.

One complaint I do have is that some of the rooms are located really far away from the lifts and the access to them is very bad.

I stayed for 3 nights in Dusit D2 and enjoyed it through. The room was spacious and facilities are top level. Service was excellent with smiles all around.
Locationwise, it is not beachfront, but in Patong, you dont need to be on beachfront to get the best of Patong. Furthermore, the beach is only 5 minutes walk from here.
Downstairs of the hotel are the Hard Rock Cafe and Hooters, and although my room is right on top of Hooters, I didnt get annoyed of the music at all. The windows soundproofing was excellent. Just close everything and you're good.
At times, I even enjoyed sitting out at the balcony, having a smoke, watching the bustling street downstairs while the music from the liveband in HRC was playing in the background.
All in all, my stay in DusitD2 was a very memorable experience.

I stayed at DusitD2 Last March. I will definitely come back for good. Everything is perfect. Just a little bit of disappointment that my friend and I didn't get the sea view room view and separate beds ethough we did request for them months before. Apart from that, everything else is fine. It is walking distance to Patong Beach, so you can just to the beach for morning sun rise or evening sunset. So far, I really enjoyed my four nights stay there.

Dear Esther,

Much appreciated for your positive review, comments and that you "definitely" want to come back as "everything is perfect" at Dusit D2 Phuket.

We don’t offer rooms with sea view and will follow up on the request of separate beds which we normally do accommodate.

If you are in a position to visit Dusit D2 Phuket in the near future I would be delighted to meet you in person.

Warm Regards,

Merijn Wessel

Lets start with location: minutes walk to beach and minutes to eateries and markets.
Then add the amazingly friendly staff.
Throw in the big comfortable well appointed rooms.
Pool and gym are great.
Breakfast buffet superb.
Make sure you do not get a room streetside, above the Hard Rock Cafe
Also, the seventh floor is closed for renovations. :(
Regret leaving and would stay here again!

Dear Guest,

Much appreciated for your glorious review, comments and that you are pleased with our general room, hotel facilities and location.

We appreciate very much your comment that you are satisfied with our "amazingly friendly staff" and our "superb" breakfast on which we received many positive reviews and will be passed on accordingly.

We are currently in the process to renovate our 7th floor rooftop to an exclusive executive lounge and an exciting, energetic beach club which is due to finish in June but rest assured we are doing our utmost best to limit any disruption of our guests.

If you are in an opportunity to visit Dusit D2 Phuket in hopefully the near future I would be delighted to meet you in person.

Stayed here for 11 nights. Great studio room overlooking pool. Amazing breakfast choices. Staff were very polite and made us feel welcome. Thank you to Tus at the pool bar who is an asset to the hotel and also to SukiI Cai who showed great customer service skills when she went out of her way to help us when we were having booking problems. We will stay here again and recommend to everyone. Hard Rock Cafe and Hooters in the same building is bonus.

Hotel in great location. Work is being done to pool area on level 7 so request lower floors to avoid noise until work completed. Stayed in a superior pool access room which has an enclosed balcony on 3rd floor. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Huge room with polished floorboards and lovely bathroom with huge shower, hairdryer etc. I think the pool access rooms need to have a sheer curtain to pull across window so you can see out but people can't see in.

Great lobby area (again huge) with plenty of lovely, comfy seating areas. The bar area has oodles of comfy seating for groups or couples or sit at bar. Happy hour every night - 2 for 1 drinks. Very attentive, friendly reception staff, though a bit of a struggle with communication at times. Fantastic coffee shop in lobby with excellent coffee (from a rare coffee drinker - the latte's are amazing) plus it also stocks little extra's like chips, nuts, chocolate bars & icecreams if you need a snack.

The only downside is that around the pool (from about 10 - 10.30am) on level 3 (pool area) there is techno background music played without relief until closing time - very, very, very annoying as the pool area is very small and enclosed so the music can't escape. Most people want to relax and read etc so I would say PLEASE STOP THE MUSIC!! Also staying in the poolside room - you really can't escape it without shutting yourself in your room.

The food from poolbar menu is awesome. Recommend the pizzas, spring rolls, noodle wrapped prawns - yum!

Another plus is that there is an optometrist attached to the hotel (in lobby area) for getting a pair of prescription glasses made - do it early for multifocals (4 days needed) single vision (2 days). Hooters and Hard Rock Cafe also attached to hotel. Hooters great for pre-dinner drinks and the girls are really lovely.

Turn left out of hotel (heading towards beach) and there is a well-stocked supermarket, a great massage shop called VIP with great staff which is very clean & neat and has a peaceful atmosphere for foot massages etc. Also just past that is a souvenir shop (also well stocked) that does laundry (we did it twice - very clean and cheap).

Fantastic meal to be had at the Burasari Resort - also on same street (Recommend the share meals - 5 star menu).

But I've saved the best till last - ladies, go straight to P&C Jewellery (1 shop from beach on same stretch of road) for the best quality new jewellery or remodelling of jewellery in Phuket! We read about it on tripadvisor and it did not disappoint. Each of us (3 ladies) had a ring made and the workmanship was phenomenal as was the attentive service and most importantly - the price! Do it first thing as they need at least 4 days to custom make a piece for you. I had mine made using 14kt gold which matches nicely with other 9ct or 18ct jewellery.

One other thing. If you turn right out of hotel you walk about 100 metres and cross the road to the best set of markets around - so quiet - so go buy your t-shirts, boardies, watches, handbags etc. there without the hassle like on the main beach road.

Jungceylon shopping centre on the ground floor has fantastic souvenirs and thai silk scarves etc.

My other place to visit (for shopping) would be when you get to the beach (left out of hotel) turn right and walk about 10 mins until you see the big RK Fashion sign (white letters in big red box) turn right down that street and walk till you just about reach the end and on your left you will find the best fine-bone china wares shop (Siam) you could want. Everything from cups & saucers to platters to vases, lamps etc handpainted and edged in gold. We happened to stumble upon it and were gobsmacked. For a truly special classy souvenir - you must go to this shop!

Oh and the sunsets are amazing at the beach - just a short walk away. Truly a great place to visit and the hotel is in a fantastic location.

Room Tip: Choose a superior pool access room on the 3rd floor. We sttayed in room 386 so rooms either side o...

Dear Guest,

We are pleased to read your generous comments, review and that you are satisfied with the general hotel, room facilities and the location of Dusit D2 Phuket.

We are currently in the process to upgrade our 7th floor rooftop with an exclusive executive lounge and an exciting beach club due to be finished in June but rest assured we do our utmost best to ensure a minimum noise disturbance to our guest.

We are glad to read that you enjoyed our Dbar and "attentive & friendly" reception staff where we offer also a wide selection from coffees to small snack items in our Grap & Go for the comfort of our guest.

We apologize for the music selection around the pool which we look into straight away and should be a relaxing and up beat sounds selection from our in house music system.

We received many positive comments of our culinary offerings and we are pleased to read that you have enjoyed it likewise.

Once again many thanks for your positive review and if you are in an opportunity to visit us in the near future I would be delighted to meet you in person.

Warm Regards,

Merijn Wessel
