“Excellent location....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

Amata resort is a very nice and beautiful place. The pool is very clean and well maintained. Very close to the main road....a 3 mins walk. Very close to all the party places as well as the beach. Breakfast is not that great,. A value for money, but i heard they are increasing prices after good reviews.

Room Tip: Pool view rooms are much better....

I got Amata resort on a last min deal at around 60 S$ per night ( X 4 nights ). I did some hotel review and research before selecting it, and I wasn't disappointed. The location is awesome. All the attractions are pretty nearby and there are many nearby restaurants.

Definitely recommend this place.

Room Tip: Select Delux room with pool side view.

Verdict:
- Stay here if you want to be close to shopping (Jungceylon shopping mall and street stores), food and night life on Bangla Road.

Room Type: Standard Hot Deal (booked from Agoda); Breakfast not included; double bed or 2 single beds
Price: US$31.45 per night

The best thing about Amata Hotel:
- Location - walking distance (10 minutes) to shopping malls, street stores, restaurants, Patong Beach etc.
- It has a swimming pool to relax in.

The no-so-great thing about Amata Hotel:
- The hotel room is nothing to brag about. The kettle wasn't working when I was there. The shower room does not have glass screen so water goes everywhere in the toilet.

Tip 1: Amata Hotel is hidden away in a lane off Ratuthit Songroipi Road (the main road). So look for the Amata Hotel signboard or you will miss it (I did).

Tip 2: There is a laundry service (not part of hotel) downstairs. 50 Baht per KG.

Rooms were good, Breakfast really set me up for the day,and the staff were really friendly !!!!! Great location, 5mins to beach, or Jungceylon . Would have given 5 stars, but building work between the 2 hotel blocks meant some early wake-ups!!!,

Doesnt have power back up. It gets worse during monsoon(with mosquitoes around)
Less options in breakfast for vegetarians.
Apart from that ,staff was friendly and helpful.
Not sure whether I would like to stay here again.

Stayed here for 11 nights. Perfect location. Great staff who go the extra mile. Secure. Surprisingly quiet in the rooms , considering its location in the absolute center of patong. Roof top pool has amazing views-Perfect for going up at sunset and watching patong transform from day to night.

I think the best part about this RESORT was the location. I seem to get the impression that many hotels in Asian countries have very low standards of maintenance or updating as was nothing like what was in advertising online. I think there must be different parts of this hotel as my room was very old, tap and toilet cistern leaked and the overpowering smell of dampness /mould was present which may have been the bathroom. As per normal buffet breakfasts are always cold so no real surprise and selection limited but room service seemed ok but they need to do a cooking class on how to cook a steak. Thought I would give that a go ........The old thing about boot leather came flooding back in a flash.
On the up side most staff were pretty friendly and rooms were cleaned pretty well.

Room Tip: Check out rooms first and don't take the first one the give you.
