“Heaven in Patong!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

My husband and I stayed at La Flora on our honeymoon trip for 7 nights. We couldnt have been any happier really! Staff are super friendly and very helpful, room service responses to your demand in like no time; they're so fast! The hotel is so well maintained.Breakfast is so yummy, especially the egg station (on your far right, am stating this casue I missed it on my first morning there).
- Its location is the key! It's directly on the beach for a swim, and on the other side directly onto Patong's busiest life! No need for cabs, take a walk, explore and look around.
- If you want to lay on the beach using sun beds, a guy will pop in front of you, you must pay him 100BAHT for a single bed (with an umbrella) .. Hotels do not own the beach, this is done everywhere, so dont worry he's not ripping you off.
- Tok tok , is that cab of theirs with three wheels, they are a rip-off .. try to avoid the drivers' invitations, unless YOU give the price and the driver was okay with it.
- You should try those sort-of-kiosk on a wheel, that sells pancakes.. go for the Nutella and Banana one! amazing!
- If you want to visit their islands, try James Bond. Dont over do it, one trip to the islands is enough.
- You should try "Flying Hanuman" , a brilliant experience exactly the same as Tarzan's; you fly from one tree to another. Yes, it's SAFE ;) You get hooked with safety tools.
- Buy those trips from any booth in Patong, they all have the same prices (+-100 BAHT)
- A cab from the airport to Patong street should cost you 650 BAHT.
- Buy those plastic pull overs to avoid getting all wet; it rains unexpectedly. Should cost 35 BAHT.
- Try a restaurant called Savoy, walk right (2 min) when leaving the hotel, Savoy should be on your left. (they have an all-fish display at the entrance) it's so yummy !! tip anything less than 50 BAHT.
- Guess that's all I can remember!

You're gonna love everything, except for the smell , yes their streets smell horrible .. but it's bearable.

Enjoy :)

Room Tip: If you want a pool in your room , pick a pool villa (not with loft) because it's more than enoug...

Stayed 5 nights and enjoyed the proximity of the hotel to the heart of Bangla road and the hustle and bustle of Patong Beach. Hotel is clean and staff very helpful and accomodating. The rooftop restaurant is stunning with views from one end of Patong Beach to the other. Stayed in a pool view room and although spacious having your balcony approximately 6 metres from the one across the pool was a little disconcerting. The beds are also very hard but they tried to make them softer for us. If we stay again I will be requesting one of the rooms that face the beach.

I stayed at La Flora for 7 days in October, and could not have been happier. The staff was fantastic -- friendly, efficient, helpful with questions and organizing excursions. Nice room with comfortable bed, and plenty of amenities. The rooftop bar was a great place to watch the sunset and fireworks. The hotel is centrally located, right on the beach, and within walking distance to many restaurants, bars, etc... I'd definitely stay again when back in Phuket.

We stayed at the La Flora a couple of years ago and decided to stay there again, we weren't disapointed.
It's a fantastic boutique hotel right on the beach, in the middle of Patong, but still quiet.
Ideal for couples.
The rooms are a good size and the staff are amazing. The beds though were extremely hard. We stayed in the Pool Access rooms which meant we took 2 steps from our door and you were in the pool. The only suggestion we would make is that they put ladders in the pool back to each room to get out. My parents stayed in the next room and they found it a little difficult to lift themselves out of the pool back onto the balcony.
I did a cooking class at the hotel and had a fun time. The 2 chefs were so friendly and we spent the whole time laughing.
The roof top bar has to be their greatest asset. It was lovely to go up there at sunset and just sit with a cocktail in hand watching the sun go down.
Breakfast is good with quite a bit to choose from. We also went to the gym and while its small I think it was enough for the size of the resort.
We have recommended La Flora to people in the past and they are yet to let us down.

We stayed at La Flora Patong for 2 nights end of October and loved it. My partner and I had been to Phuket numerous times and this hotel is definitely one of our favourites. Here is a little summary of what we think about the hotel:

What we liked:
1. Location - very central and easy walk to most places. Heaps of shops and restaurants that are only steps away. The beach is right behind the hotel (good for early morning walk along the beach).
2. Staffs - always curteous, friendly and most helpful. All speak good English.
3. Amenities - we enjoyed the adequate and well maintained gym, the 2 pools are clean and have a beautiful setting in which you could see a tiny bit the blue sea at the ends of the pools.
4. Room - our room (one of the sea view suites) is gorgeous, comfortable, clean and spacious. TV with English channels and extensive dvd collections. The bed and pillows are very comfy.
5. Wifi - free, reliable and stable through out the entire hotel.
6. Breakfast - next to the pool was lovely. We especially loved the omelette station where you could get fresh omelette cooked with ingredients of your choice. We also had freshly squeezed juices (you get to pick your own combination of fresh fruit/vegetables).
7. Quiet - It is relatively quiet despite being so close to the hustle and bustle of Patong. We also noticed the hotel is not as noisy as a couple of other hotels that we had stayed.

What we dislike: Limited sea view - As many had mentioned before, the view of the sea is mostly blocked by the trees between the room and the sea. Since I emailed the hotel at the time of booking specifically requesting for a suite with best possible sea view, I do believe the hotel did give us one of the best "part sea view suites".

Overall verdict: Fantastic. When we go back, we will most likely go for a pool view or pool access room instead. The hotel also appears to be more suitable for couples on romantic holiday as supposed to group of friends or family.

Room Tip: If you want total peace and quiet in your room at all time, make sure your room is not underneath th...

We travel to Phuket-Patong (living in Hong Kong) on a regular basis and therefore have tried many different Hotels.

Pros:
- Clean
- Friendly staff
- Location is the great (if you like to be close to the beach and close to restaurants and bars)
- Quite
- Beach just a couple of foot steps away

Cons:
- Pool: if you have a room with pool access then it’s quite good, however it can get noisy there. For a room without pool access there are only about 5 lounge chairs so you have to be quick to get a place at the pool. There are two pools on each site of the Hotel. Pool access has no ladder/steps or anything so maybe not that suitable for everybody.
- Room service very average. Breakfast just ok.

Overall this is a nice place and the reason why I would book it again is the location. However, there are other Hotels with a similar good location for half the price. This Hotel is more expensive then other Hotels in the area which is not really worth it. I did not feel that the Hotel has anything else or special to offer then other 4/5 Star Hotels in Patong.

There are some mixed reviews on here about this hotel but most of the faults are things that are not restricted to this hotel. This is one of the very few TRUE beachfront hotels in Patong yet it has all the other aspects of Patong on the doorstep that you can simply take part in or leave behind.
I have had travelled for work for 20+ years and hotel staff always vary, some are very friendly and some are not. For me I found the staff at La Flora to be friendly and professional which is all they need to be, hotel staff don't need to be your friend every minute. I was travelling alone and the breakfast staff realised this and always gave me the best table with the direct view to the beach and each morning would offer me an ipad to read the news.
This hotel is just a little too large to be a boutique hotel but it still has that feel at times. Some people have pointed out faults such as noise from fireworks on the beach, this is not the hotels fault and regardless the fireworks can be heard from any of the hotels within a few blocks of the beach. Door slamming can be a little noisy at times but this comes from other guests and is a result of the all tile floors which are common in these parts of the world. The rooms are beautiful and the housekeeping staff do some of the best work I have seen. I would go for a Pool View as opposed to pool access for slightly more privacy if you can't afford one the fully concealed suites.
Breakfast has a great choice with an Egg Bar and a Juice Bar as well as all the standard Western and Eastern foods. You can order drinks and lunch to any part of the grounds and they do a 200b lunch special. The roof top bar and restaurant is beautiful at sunset for a mellow drink or excellent dinner. The mini bar is restocked gratis each day and you get more than enough bottled water and more is available gratis if needed.
The absolute BEST thing about this hotel is due to the price it keeps the drunk party goers out. While it is not full of senior citizens it is a more mellow crowd compared to what you find in most of the hotels in Patong.
You are going to find faults in EVERY hotel and just need to weigh up what is more important for your trip, for those who want true beach front, to be away from the party crowd but close enough to partake when feeling like it then this is one of the best choices.

Room Tip: Pool view is best for privacy as opposed to pool access. (Pool view are all the balcony rooms). Or o...
