The people behind Joe’s certainly considered the potential when setting up shop here: the ambience is unsurpassed, and – regardless where you’re seated – the magnificent view of the ocean makes your experience a spellbinding, charming and romantic one.
Albeit perhaps not quite at the very top of the line, the food is delicious, appetising and tasty. The wine list also features a few pleasant surprises and fabulous buys. You should, however, be careful to check the vintage of the bottle you are served; for twice I experienced a mismatch between the vintage advertised in the wine list and what I was actually served. And, although the vintages presented to me were of more inferior quality, they would not sell the wines at less expensive prices, and thus one had to start all over and choose a different wine. A minor source of irritation – and a clear indication that they are not particularly well versed when it comes to wines.
The staff are sweet, smiling and attentive.
I therefore recommend all visitors to Phuket to pay Joe’s a visit – it definitely represents one of the better restaurant experiences provided within the area.
