The Imperial MHS is located on Route 108 on the southerly outskirts of the town. Being an Imperial it is part of a large group of hotels and a certain reputation to keep.
We had not booked but turned up to see what was available. We were offered a deluxe for 2500B or a suite for 4500B. After some deliberation we were offered the suite at 3500B which we accepted.
We stayed in Room No.001 on the pool deck. It is a nicely laid out room with a sitting area, a very cosy dining area and a bed area. Unfortunately the first impression was a strong musty smell. I imagine this room had not been opened for some time.
A couple of hours with the aircon running cleared this odour to an acceptable level.
There was one other problem with this room and that was noise insulation. There was some heavy footsteps from the room above, something that should not happen in an Imperial hotel. Other than that I cannot fault the room or its cleanliness.
My wife nearly tripped up on the wooden decking around the pool, one piece was not attached, probably rotten. Not surprising in this climate.
The gardens were lovely and well kept, very pleasant to have a quiet stroll.
We ate once in the restaurant with good service and food that was well presented.
I would have no hesitation staying in this hotel again but would I pay 4500B for the suite, probably not.
