This place was such a disappointment that we left after a few days and moved to another hotel. They are currently renovating and the place is a noisy mess (one day they worked from 6.30am to 9.20pm). Traffic noise can be an issue although tends to calm down later in the evening. There is a big loudspeaker right outside the hotel where the local mosque broadcasts prayers at regular intervals, which is fine, but not at 4am. It's VERY loud!
The rooms are large, but the resort is old and tired. Rooms are full of ants and cockroaches and are generally dirty. Smoke alarms had been removed from the ceiling with exposed wiring remaining.
Despite promises of a fully equipped kitchen, when we got there there was nothing. Oh, there's a fridge, two hotplates and a sink alright, but no pots or pans, cutlery or crockery. After requesting some though we did get a few bits and pieces. However no microwave, which was annoying for us with a baby whose milk we then had trouble heating.
The location is ok if you like being out of the way, but transport back to the hotel of an evening from Ao Nang can be hit and miss, as we found out one night after waiting nearly an hour for a bus (and this was at 6.30pm). There are a few streetside eateries locally which do mostly fried rice dishes, and they're cheap and generally good, but the hotel is on a main road with poor street lighting and it's dangerous to traverse at night - it's about a kilometre or more away. The hotel food is edible - breakfasts are pretty good although you can be guaranteed the staff will get something about your order wrong every day. We had room service on the first night which was not good at all.
Don't believe the promises of free wireless internet connection. When we asked we were told we had to pay, despite many references on websites to free wifi. You do get free internet from a terminal in the reception though, which is nice because it helped us find our next hotel. :)
We asked ourselves whether this hotel would be good to stay at after the renovations were complete but we feel it would probably still be disappointing. The German / Thai couple who run it didn't seem to put any effort into the place either from a maintenance or customer service perspective. When we informed them that we wanted to move to another hotel their attitude changed from aloof nonchalance to outright rudeness. Even their staff apologised for their behaviour as they farewelled us.
In a nutshell, don't waste your money.
