“Nice but very busy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2014

The Emerald Pool is exactly what you see in the photos, a lovely hot turquoise pool where you can swim and relax. However, it is very, very busy and it is difficult to get into the pool as the rocks are so slippery due to the minerals from the pool.

“Uniqe natural pool”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2014

It's not on of the touristy places in Krabi area, but most certainly one of the beautiful and uniqe locations in Thailand.
The pool chages its water color acording to the water temprature and minerals composition - Crystal, green, blue, emerald etc.
The site located 40 minutes drive from Ao Nang, by car or by tourist group. From the parking zone, there is a 800 meter walk until the emerald pool, some in slippery road. Be careful.
200 BHT for entrance.

“Slippery and slimy”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2014

Took a 1 hr journey from So Nang to the Emarld pool on a Sunday. We arrived at about 4pm. Most of the tour groups have already left the place but there were still many locals visiting the place.

Car park was 30B and entrance is 200B for non locals. We need to take a 800m walk into the forest before reaching the Emerald pool. The pathway was narrow and slippery. There were many people inside and around the pool. The pool is indeed greenish in colour probably due to the algae. Pool is shoulder deep and once inside it is difficult to exit due to the slimy algae on the rocks.

“A good place to cool off”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2014

After much deliberation of how we were going to get out of the pool, we decided to just plunge in and think about it later. It is hard to climb out as the sides of the pool are very steep and slippery. There are algae covering all the sides. It is fun to watch how people tried many ways to get out of the pool and we also watched and learned which are the places easier (not that much easier) and less dangerous. We were lucky we got there early as buses of tourists arrived awhile later so we left.

Word of warning, even the areas around the pool area slippery. Walk with care.
