Stayed in a "deluxe" room. 5th floor. 8 days.. Arrived in rain.. so garden over grown, one lift not working..towels in reception to mop steps..View of bit of sea, but mainly buildings.and overgrown trees . Room clean and large but sparse. only one bedside table. Old towels , not fuffy but threadbare. Toiletry is soap. Bed is 2 separate , joined half way up so you wake with your top half on one bed, and your bum on the other.. very firm and not comfortable. ,Agree shower temperature very hot spurts.. not nice. Some mould in xshower area.
Breakfasts poor and insects on jam and fruit, Poor selection. sometimes no yoghurt..No cloths on table. Egg man still learning how to make fried eggs..tho good at breaking yolks!
Bacon sometimes 80% fat.. cook your own... One day we had beans , tomatoes, croissants,no insects, but in general a 2-3star at the most.( Maybe the asian selection was wider. )
Pool area fine if you get a lounger. Again , lack of towels, at first and very thin padding cushions.. but clean.
Having beenbooked into deluxe and ordinary rooms in Bangkok and Chiang Mai.. this hotel was much poorer standard..than both.
If you get a good deal price wise, it is adequate, but either tour operater ripped us off.. or this place is way overpriced. In its blurb it looks bright and busy. There was no enter tainment and only activity was 1 lunch demo, and 1 evening meal.. advertised. The spice restaurant was only usesd for breakfast that i could see.. and had a proper tableclothed meal X1 whe there was a business meeting group. Other than that the restaurant was usually empty. .
As i say , if you can get it as a cheap cheerful.. ok, but dont pck your gladrags!! and if the price is high try elsewhere. .
A little managerial input to check on towels , create a holiday atmosphere and generate a decent breakfast, nicely presented without bugs.. with a lick of paint would help a lot. The staff/ people themselves are nice tho generally have little or no english
