Top marks to the staff at this hotel. We found them all very friendly and helpful during our recent stay whilst on honeymoon.
They are a real asset to the hotel.

The hotel is in a good location a little away from the main street.
There are lots of activities to take advantage of (we did a few more than planned due to the weather not being great earlier on in our stay - the rainy season doesn't seem to really end till December time). Phra-Nang beach (v.pretty) is closeby and easily accessible by local tail-boat.

Would recommend the pool rooms as these are situated well by the poolside and handy to nip to and from room via pool.

Have fun if planning to stay on a trip to Thailand...

  • Liked — The friendliness of staff
  • Disliked — The pool needs painting/repair

We stayed at this hotel with 9 adults and 6 kids within our family and had a fantastic stay with value for money. All rooms were exceptionally clean and spacious, breakfast provided as well as boat tours.Food was presented well and importantly tasted GOOD ,dinnertime we had a gentleman who sang songs by request accoustic and it just made a meals more pleasant(even the kids were entralled)Of course they wanted mums and dads to stop singing!!! Couples or families would enjoy their stay here the atmosphere is serene and lots of room within the compound.Shops are close by and thai massages are straight across from the hotel lobby(5 steps and your there!) You cant go to Thailand without trying the traditional thai massage. All the staff were lovely and friendly and I would go back in a heartbeat!

  • Liked — Very clean within and surroundings of the hotel

Stayed in a "deluxe" room. 5th floor. 8 days.. Arrived in rain.. so garden over grown, one lift not working..towels in reception to mop steps..View of bit of sea, but mainly buildings.and overgrown trees . Room clean and large but sparse. only one bedside table. Old towels , not fuffy but threadbare. Toiletry is soap. Bed is 2 separate , joined half way up so you wake with your top half on one bed, and your bum on the other.. very firm and not comfortable. ,Agree shower temperature very hot spurts.. not nice. Some mould in xshower area.
Breakfasts poor and insects on jam and fruit, Poor selection. sometimes no yoghurt..No cloths on table. Egg man still learning how to make fried eggs..tho good at breaking yolks!
Bacon sometimes 80% fat.. cook your own... One day we had beans , tomatoes, croissants,no insects, but in general a 2-3star at the most.( Maybe the asian selection was wider. )
Pool area fine if you get a lounger. Again , lack of towels, at first and very thin padding cushions.. but clean.
Having beenbooked into deluxe and ordinary rooms in Bangkok and Chiang Mai.. this hotel was much poorer standard..than both.
If you get a good deal price wise, it is adequate, but either tour operater ripped us off.. or this place is way overpriced. In its blurb it looks bright and busy. There was no enter tainment and only activity was 1 lunch demo, and 1 evening meal.. advertised. The spice restaurant was only usesd for breakfast that i could see.. and had a proper tableclothed meal X1 whe there was a business meeting group. Other than that the restaurant was usually empty. .
As i say , if you can get it as a cheap cheerful.. ok, but dont pck your gladrags!! and if the price is high try elsewhere. .
A little managerial input to check on towels , create a holiday atmosphere and generate a decent breakfast, nicely presented without bugs.. with a lick of paint would help a lot. The staff/ people themselves are nice tho generally have little or no english

  • Liked — pool, fairly near links to boats to beaches, and plenty cshops restaurants nearby
  • Disliked — grubby, food, lack of life !

It was the little things that spoiled this hotel, like very little choice at breakfast. Only 2 cereals to choose from for instance. No bar to sit and relax in, they only had a pool bar. I would say great for a quiet location but eat out.

Me and my husband stayed in Krabi La Playa from the 29th August to 3rd Sept 2008. The hotel is slightly off the main drag (which is a good thing if you ask me) up an alley near the tourist Police station and has a handy supermarket just over the road. Whilst we were staying there was some refurbishment going on, but you never heard it in your hotel room.
All of the staff were very friendly and couldnt do enough for you. Some of the staff don't have great english, but your in Thailand!! They will try their best to understand you, and there genually wasnt much confusion.
The main swimming pool was wonderful and clean, the swim up bar was very good (highly recommend the Pina Colada!). The food in the hotel was ok, but if you go up the man street there is loads of restuarants that do loads of good food.
Our room had a gigantic bed which was changed daily, t.v with lots of channel, very cheap mini bar, telephone, and lots of room for your luggage and clothes. The bathroom was also very clean and the toilets were fine!!
The grounds in which the hotel is built is very nice and tidy gardens.
The massages in the hotel are also highly recommended, my husband had a Thai massage that lasted an hour (only a little painful) and cost about 300 bahts.
If anyone would like anymore information please ask me, but overall the nicest hotel we saw in Krabi, very recommended!!

  • Liked — Lovely staff and great location
  • Disliked — refurb on one of the pools!!
