I paid for 3 nights at the Phra Nang Inn through AsiaDirect website. We were suppose to arrive at night about 9:30pm (on a Weds.)..our plane was delayed that night in Bangkok so we had to spend the night.

I called the hotel to tell them that we would be late but the lady said no-one spoke English and to call back at 9am in the morning to speak with the reservations persons.

The next morning, I called AsiaDirect and spoke to the person there who said that she would call the hotel. no problem- she said. So when we finally get to Krabi and to the hotel....they gave away our room the day before. They said since we didn't check in at the check-in time of 12 noon...they gave it away.

Needless to say I was extremely upset. If you are going to be late at all here...be sure to call and call..and make sure you speak to someone even though they say they can't speak English and to call back.

The hotel did help us find a room for the night in Rai ley Beach (I'm sure it had something to do with my constant crying)...but the people at Asia Web Direct did not. They said "too bad" bascially.

But we weren't so pleased with the outside of the hotel itself. He thought it looked run-down (which it does) and it is in the middle of tourist/back-packer/ rift-raft Ao Nang.

A friend and I stayed at this hotel for Christmas 2006. We only stayed there for 4 nights as we journeyed through Thailand but it was certainly in the top 2 hotels we stayed in (out of 5) and was by far the best value for money even at this time of year! People who have concerns about the road separating the 2 wings needn't worry as both wings operate fairly individually with the exception of breakfast but, really, this is no hardship at all, especially when you are enjoying one of the prime sites for a hotel on this beach. The rooms are great (we had a deluxe high-floor) and the staff are very friendly. The only downside to our whole trip in Thailand was that despite specifying a twin room at every hotel we always ended up having to reiterate this on our arrival - although this could be due to Hotel Thailand.com that we booked them through. That said, we loved the Ao nang area so much we're now looking to buy a house there! Highly recommended.

We stayed at Phra Nang Inn for 4 nights and was fairly satisfied. Room was rather basic but unique, with a funky attached bathroom. Only complaints were that the water pressure for the shower was very low, plus also there was no satellite tv and all the remaining channels were in thai!

Breakfast was at a nice restaurant with a great sea view and food was good. The best thing about this place must be its very convenient location. Just outside are the food carts and shops and the pier where long tail boats leave and arrive.

Overall quite a pleasant experience!

The resort is quite unusual and our room was great (junior suite) overlooking the pool. However, this was marred at rush hour by the noise of the traffic as it was on the corner of the main road in Ao Nang.

The bathroom was a nice size but the plug in the bath didn't work and we requested the soap dispenser to be filled twice, both requests were ignored. The laundry service was fantastic!

There didn't seem to be much of an atmosphere at the resort which may not have been helped by the fact that we had to cross the road to go to the other part of the resort for breakfast. Breakfast was good and staff were efficient and friendly.

Ao Nang beach is nothing special and the resort is a lot busier than when I was last there 8 years ago).
