“Nicest solo spot in Krabi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

Pak-up is located in Krabi Town, a convenient launching pad for any of the island located on the west coast of Thailand.
The beds are clean, with personal reading lights and plugs, which is a huge plus.
One word of warning. The room next to ours had a bug issue and everyone had to be moved out. But the hostel dealt with the situation perfectly, moving everyone into new rooms and sorting out the bug issue.

Pak Up hostel was our stop over from Phi Phi to Koh Samui. The hostel is good and well equipped. We had booked a 4 bed mixed dorm. The room was spacious, the bunk beds were clean and comfy. They had dorm showers and toilets. Very well kept. There was a washing machine too, but when we had gone there, it didn't seem to work properly. We ended up putting one too many coins with no result.

There is nice pool table downstairs and a pretty good rooftop restaurant too.It would have been a really good place, if the reception was warm and helpful. Of all the hostels I have stayed in, this hostel's reception was by far the unfriendliest of the lot! For no good reason.

To go to Koh Samui, they give a pretty good deal from the hostel.

I stayed here with my friend in December. The room was really nice and clean, comfortable bed, good lockers and power point on each bed. The staff are more then helpful and very polite. They even helped arrange my diving in koh Tao! 10/10! Will stay here again and recommend to everyone.

Located in Krabi Town. There isnt much to do here. But this place is great for a chill out.

The beds are REALLY comfy. The lockers are HUGE (the size of your bed. Its secure. Its cheap. The Wifi is good. They have waterfall/rainfall showers too. Defintely recommend this place. I stayed once in December 2011 then sometime in February or March 2012. Both times were good stays.

Its really clean too :)

First time staying in a hostel and Pak Up definitely provided a good experience.

My travel buddy and I had initially been in a shared dorm but wanted something a little quieter. For a slighty higher charge, we were put into a private AC room which is basically a room with a bed. While it was sparse, the rooms are clean and the AC works. What more can you ask for?

Pak up is very clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and has some great front end staff. I ended up booking a rock climbing course through them and it was done on the spot and at a reduced rate, love it!

Some things to comment on are sometimes their WIFI can be hit or miss, can be very loud from the bar next door, of the ipads they have on hand, only one has movies on it and while I was there, someone rented it out for 5 whole days at 40 baht an hour (jerk!) and some of the people in the morning aren't aware of the regular bus schedule to Ao Nang (which happens to be picked up literally within sight of the hostel every 10 minutes or so).

Other than that, a solid and enjoyable experience!

I arrived at this hostel at night. But unfortunately, my room had full. I need to upgrade my room to AC dorm room. And I need to pay some money eventhough it was not my fault. But, nevermind, it was quite cheap. Nice room! This place got very nice vibe. I luv it. My room, ENGLISH, the entrance door, can't be lock inside or outside. Nice toilet! Nice bar... they have an open mic every weekend. Many activities was going on while I was staying there. Plus, if you book the tour from here, it's quite cheap. There is also a promo where you can combine your room price with the 4island tour, or hong island tour which are cheap. Love this....!

I made the mistake of choosing to book here 5 days (mistake because I wish I'd moved on to somewhere else rather than stay put for that long).. however.. this place more than made up for my mistake.

It has everything you could need, safe, secure, 24 hour reception, roof bar and adjoining bar on the ground floor.. It doesn't have lifts, so if you're staying like me on the third floor then that can be a bit of a grind.

Super clean, very modern, centrally located, great value.. room with air conditioning sharing with 7 others 270 Baht (£5.40) per night, I believe there are private rooms though I wanted to go low budget.. You can absolutely find cheaper in Krabi, some places 150 Baht/135 low season, but for that little bit extra you get a lot more in return.

300 Baht deposit, key and towel, there are lockers there that hold all your stuff and more, perfect when you're staying with unknown travellers. But be prepared to have a lock, or pay 150 Baht for one at reception..

I've seen a review that said it was super loud at night, but I didn't hear a peep, maybe the guy above me snoring, but pop some ear plugs and you're well away. The staff are well used to the footfall and have good English, this means booking tours or just general info is very easy.

If budget is low, but not dire straits, then I'd recommend staying here, I met a whole host of travellers from all over the world, partied with a few of them, smiled at the rest - everyone is very easy going.

Room Tip: No lift, so if you're travelling heavy, then try and get a lower level room

'Once you come to Pak Up, you will never want to pak up.' If you are looking for a top notch hostel within accessible distance to all of Krabis' famous attractions while paying a budget price then you are at the right place! At Pak Up, we work hard to ensure every detail is right and the place is spotlessly clean, beds are comfy while providing all the best nightlife Krabi Town has to offer within our safe and secure premises. While still relatively new, we have been constantly recommended and commended on all hostel websites, this year being classed as top three in Asia 2013 by Hostelbookers. Pak Up management strives to go from strength to strength, keeping up with all the new global trends in the world of hostels and budget travel. When you arrive, you will notice this is nothing like the run of the mill hostel you will typically find in SE Asia. As a former school, the hostel is themed accordingly room by room and is in a loft style oversized setting. All our rooms are set to the same standard, with international plugs, reading lights, under-bed lockers and 3.5 ft beds. From the ground floor reception, to the fourth floor Top-Up Bar (Sky Bar) and back down to the increasingly famous 'Playground' downstairs, this place is designed to impress. During the day you will be able to either take advantage of the many tours available at our reception desk or just chill out on one the many terraces dotted all over the hostel. Our tour desk offers a seamless way to see everything in Krabi at a reasonable price and you will never be left stranded anywhere. Our staff are trained to make sure you avoid stress. At night, well that's another matter all together! Playground, as the name suggests, is a place for big kids like us to socialize, drink, play, and generally acquire great memories along with great friends from day one. The staff and in house entertainers will strive to offer the very best in hostel entertainment with great deals on whenever you care to visit our bars. Our 'Playground' is currently the only place in south east asia to offer regular Jelly Wrestling with a dedicated pit and commentaries. Top-Up bar, with its panoramic views, superb mixologists and breezy feel, is a place to escape after a long day travelling. ... more   less
