“Best hostel we stayed in!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

Really cheap, fantastic staff, very clean and great facilities. We spoke to lots of people whilst in Krabi who all complained their accommodation was expensive and not very nice, we recommended moving to this hostel for all of them. It has a roof top bar with live music on and a cocktail menu (no noise from it in the dorms though). Great bathroom facilities, internet access (have to pay though) and a tv in the lobby.

lovely staff. rooms are really clean and bathrooms are cleaned three-four times a day. High turnover of people and 220baht you can't really go wrong. air con is super cold and internet a little bit intermitent in the rooms but in the open groundfloor very fast. The drinks in the bar are expensive.
Go down to Blue Juice (closer to the river literally on the street over) down the road for great food, lovely service and reasonable drinks...you can also book all your tours and taxis cheaper than most places in town here.

Room Tip: mixed dorms are really social.

Im so glad I stayed at this hostel! The place is so modern and has a great vibe to it. Quirky rooms, I was in room IT and thought it was great that they have all the beds named in connection to IT. The rooms were spotless n spacious and the beds were amazing. Stayed in an ac room for 220 bhat!!! Awesome. The 4th floor bar was great n cheap n loved the guy who did the live music!

Krabi itself had nothing to do but the night markets were awesome and a few nice restaurants.

This is hostel is one of the best ever and it's very easy to meet people. Had a group and was only there 2 nights in total. You must stay if your going to krabi. The staff also know you by name.

As much as there is nothing much to do in Krabi town but this hostel live it up!

At 220baht (deluxe A/C dorm) or 200baht (standard fan dorm) for boutique hostel with frat house concept. Roof top bar, common area with flat-screen TV, computer + internet for use (payable), free wifi through out the building, DIY laundry, separate toilet & shower, A/C, super clean. Also the best toilet/shower in the hostel that I ever seen along my journey. They are super clean and the water pressure is just perfect. The room is also super nice. Nice comfy bed with bed protector, fluffy right-height pillow, thermal duvet, clean sheets for both bed and duvet and clean pillow-case. The bunk bed is big and solid too! No shaking no matter how big am I and gotta sleep on the upper bed :) And personal locker on the bottom rack of the bed.

... couldn't ask for more ye?

I certainly don't get it (all the terrible/poor/average reviews of this place) but for sure will recommend this place to anyone that I going to meet and about to come to Krabi.

For those who complaining the mattresses are hard, I believe they never stay or have yet to stay in any hostel in Khao San Road area in Bangkok. LOL!

Seriously, I have no major negative words for this hostel except one slight minor thing - go and get English-speaking staff. No need to be perfect English but at least someone that will not hung up the phone just because he couldn't understand you. That's all.

The best thing about Krabbi was this hostel! As much as i didn't enjoy the town i thoroughly enjoyed staying at Pak-up. Nice chilled out, clean and good washing facilities. The beds were a little hard but you get a good nights sleep. Very secure with under bed lockers. Great place to meet other travelers and good location to the pier and town. Non air-con rooms get extremely hot so would definitely stay in an air con room next time!

Just staying here for to nights. Arrived from Phuket yesterday, that I didn't like at all. This place is amazing, friendly staff, nice atmosphere, cheap food and probably the best hostel I could ever imagine! I'm here alone backpacking and actually I've talked to about twenty people the first night here - all in the same boat as myself. At the top of the building they have a night bar with cheap beers for about 70 Bath each. So what's more to say - cheap accommodation and probably the best place for a backpacker here! Just visit this place!

Just stayed one night here as i missed a ferry out of krabi town. Im glad i did because krabi town is quite nice for food, meeting people and this hostel. I walked around for quite some time at around 7pm trying to find a hostel but most were booked. I came across this place and book a room pronto. comfy bed and clean rooms. great showers too. A nice rooftop bar where you can mingle and meet other solo'ers. Its a shame i only had 1 night here but i was short on time.

Room Tip: All rooms are themed and each bed has a different theme name. nerdy but cool.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
'Once you come to Pak Up, you will never want to pak up.' If you are looking for a top notch hostel within accessible distance to all of Krabis' famous attractions while paying a budget price then you are at the right place! At Pak Up, we work hard to ensure every detail is right and the place is spotlessly clean, beds are comfy while providing all the best nightlife Krabi Town has to offer within our safe and secure premises. While still relatively new, we have been constantly recommended and commended on all hostel websites, this year being classed as top three in Asia 2013 by Hostelbookers. Pak Up management strives to go from strength to strength, keeping up with all the new global trends in the world of hostels and budget travel. When you arrive, you will notice this is nothing like the run of the mill hostel you will typically find in SE Asia. As a former school, the hostel is themed accordingly room by room and is in a loft style oversized setting. All our rooms are set to the same standard, with international plugs, reading lights, under-bed lockers and 3.5 ft beds. From the ground floor reception, to the fourth floor Top-Up Bar (Sky Bar) and back down to the increasingly famous 'Playground' downstairs, this place is designed to impress. During the day you will be able to either take advantage of the many tours available at our reception desk or just chill out on one the many terraces dotted all over the hostel. Our tour desk offers a seamless way to see everything in Krabi at a reasonable price and you will never be left stranded anywhere. Our staff are trained to make sure you avoid stress. At night, well that's another matter all together! Playground, as the name suggests, is a place for big kids like us to socialize, drink, play, and generally acquire great memories along with great friends from day one. The staff and in house entertainers will strive to offer the very best in hostel entertainment with great deals on whenever you care to visit our bars. Our 'Playground' is currently the only place in south east asia to offer regular Jelly Wrestling with a dedicated pit and commentaries. Top-Up bar, with its panoramic views, superb mixologists and breezy feel, is a place to escape after a long day travelling. ... more   less
