“Away from the busy town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2014

This place has the most beautiful sceneries apart that it is 7km away from the Tha Ley Pier. The staffs are very helpful and friendly. I would suggest this place to friends who wants to getaway from the busy city. My and my girlfriend enjoyed our time and we would come again.

The resort is beautifully designed and eco friendly. About 30 individual thai villas, outside bathroom, modern and clean with a fantastic infinity pool and a great sunset. Staff is friendly and helpful. If you want to rest and not see the surrounding areas, this is for you! However, after resting in Khao Lak for 5 days, we wanted to explore Krabi as there are so many things to see and do. Upon booking the hotel I knew that it was on a mangrove island, Koh Klang next to Krabi river but didn't spend much time researching this hotel and only found out later that it's a small Islamic island. The resort is the only hotel on the island, no pork, alcohol only on hotel premises. No affection and ladies are also requested to cover their shoulders and knees outside hotel premises. Please don't get me wrong, we live in Qatar and respect the islamic customs but we plan our holidays around crispy bacon and pork tjops! I think they should be more clear on this when marketing, only mentioned on their own website.
We found the hotel's food and beverage expensive. They don't have a mini mart on site so we ended up buying supplies from 7/11 in Krabi Town. The hotel is 7km away from the pier which is only accessible via tuk tuk/scooter/bicycle - 300 Baht each way. Then you have to take a 5min long tail boat ride over the river to Krabi town. You have a choice of two piers, The first is 20 Baht pp and the second 50 Baht pp. The last boat is at 12h at night so you're stranded if you stay out too late. The hotel does provide 3 free shuttles to the pier but not at very convenient times so end up paying any way. The only thing I think the hotel can improve on is the bathroom towels, they are washed out, rough on the skin and too small for a grown man. The swimming towels are much better. The villagers are friendly and smile and wave every time they see you. I think the resort is doing a really good job with the environment, just disappointing that the villagers don't follow their example. The island is filled with litter everywhere!

We stayed here for 5 nights on our honeymoon. We stayed in a number of places in Thailand, but Islanda was by far our favourite (and not the most expensive) place to stay. Relaxing, clean room, with quiet pool, and really friendly staff!! The ride to the resort on the tuk tuk was interesting the first time... however ultimately it was nice to have some time to take in the sights of Koh Klang on these spins. The location is very remote and quite, our room was filled with sounds of lapping water and birds.....and the odd gecko :). We liked the restaurant (the thai dishes and the pizza!) and the bar had a great selection. And the lads were so helpful with organising trips etc., so easy going. We got the sense that small local businesses were the preferred option for the trips. We had an oceanfront villa where we had wonderful views of the sunsets; wathcing the locals fishing and not forgetting the little rabbits playing on the beach one morning!! The only negative I can think of was the rubbish on the beach and all around the island - perhaps Islanda could come up with a scheme to takcle this????
My lasting memory from Island was 'relax', something I badly needed.

We stayed here for a few days at the end our Thailand trip in December 2013. There were very few guests at the hotel so it was nice to have the pool pretty much to ourselves! The manager and the rest of the staff were very nice, and super helpful. Our room was nice and clean but very bright first thing in the morning so we didn't ever sleep late!

This hotel is very expensive and there isn't a lot involved in the price you pay, with the exception of the pool and the bikes available for rent there isn't much to do. However, if you want to unwind and relax (which we did) then we highly recommend it. There is no beach access so be prepared to lounge by the pool but the pool is very beautiful!

Every meal we had at the restaurant was delicious especially the blue crab!

Hope this review is helpful!

I did follow through the reviews carefully before i choose this place, but I am extremely surprised on why people to even write a good review about this lizard infested hotel. The hotel is right after to rip you off. From the point of over charging for each and every ride to and from the jetty, to providing good food.
My view is any reasonable traveler planning to visit Krabi should not go by the reviews. I tend to believe that the good reviews may be even rigged after my experience. Summary, total waste of money, poorest form of service i have experienced in Thailand.

This place is in the middle of a Muslim community, so if you plan on exploring the surrounding area by bike, make sure you bring more conservative clothing.

Our overall stay was good. The Thai food was amazing, but a little more expensive compared to food in Krabi restaurants. Definitely bring lots of snacks with you as there are a few times during the day that the restaurant is closed. There is no store nearby.

It was my husband's birthday during our stay there and Mr Big was kind enough to order a cake for him, free of charge. After having dinner, two workers dimmed the lights and surprised him with it.

The resort is very quiet, close to nature indeed. And you will see a beautiful sunset along the beach. I found at times that I was pretty bored. There were only a few things to do there. There is a great infinity pool, a pool table by the bar (you have to pay per game), and free movies to borrow. The trek to Krabi takes about 15 minutes by tuktuk and boat, so I wouldn't recommend this place if you plan on going to Krabi often as it will cost you. The excursions will cost you more as well since you are in the middle of an island.

The room was great. We were lucky to have quiet neighbours, though I think for the most part people come here for the peace and quiet anyway.

The staff speaks very good English, are very friendly, and they are always eager to please. It was very easy arranging excursions with them.

I recommend this place for those who want peace and quiet. There are no partiers here. If you want late night food and entertainment, stay somewhere else.

The resort can take some time to get to. You will need to change from taxi to longtail boat to tuk tuk to get here. But it is worth it! The resort is very nice and it is definitely easy to relax here. You cannot go into the sea, however the infinity pool is a perfect substitute and you can pretend you in the sea from there.

Room Tip: Choose a bungalow facing the sea
