“An impressive temple”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2014

Take your time to view this Wat.
The nine levels depict various aspects of Buddhism. Look at all the murals and paintings depicting various tales or teaching of Buddha.
As you go up the levels, the views of Khon Kaen open up.

“Beautiful and Unusual”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2014

This is a beautiful temple nestled close to the large lake in the city of Khon Kaen. If you can take the stairs to the top of yhe pyramid like structure where you will fantastic views over the lake and the city of Kohn Kaen. I was lucky to experiece a typical Essan Buddhist celebration which initially involved everyone dancing around the paved area around the temple before entering the temple to give thanks to Buddha. I enjoyed the experience with my partner, daughter and our Thai family and it is the best way to see the real Thailand. The interior is as spectacular with beautifil paintings and I found the carvings on the shutters on the windows intricately breathtaking. Highly recommend visiting this wonderful landmark in Khon Kaen.

“Imposing Wat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2014

This temple (Wat) is rather unusual. It has a 9-layer pyramidal cheddi. Nine (9) is a sacred number of course. Being in Isan, it is guarded by Najas. The main hall inside the temple is imposing. The ceiling has a nice painted decoration. This way seems rather new but in fact it is 200 years old and is definitively the main attraction in town.

Such a nice temple and as mentioned by others the view at the top is amazing! There is food and drinks available just outside as well.
