“Nice enough place, however geared for local market”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2014

I picked this hotel due to its location and proximity to attractions that we wanted to see while on our tour. Nice room with basic amenities. Peaceful location. Wifi works well around lobby area. The hotel grounds are quite quirky, in a neat way and there are a variety of rooms to pick from, some oozing character. The owner (I think) was a lovely man who went out of his way and organised some breakfast boxes for our early departure. The downfall for us is that it was geared to the local/asian market....with no english tv channels and no european food available in the restuarant. In fact some of the meals were very adventurous. So if you dont need english tv and you eat the local dishes, I would say you would be happy with your stay. If you have family members like us that cant go without tv or burgers you may want to opt to stay elsewhere

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst on an elephant & tiger tour. We were allocated one of the river rooms. These rooms are constructed over a floating platform that is tied to the riverside.

The staff were pleasant but it was difficult to communicate with them. Our guide was essential in organising things for us. The food was simple but good, even though there was'nt much to choose from.

The room was abit of a trek from reception, however it had the most amazing view, especially at sunrise & sunset. The shower room was smelly at times due to its location on the river. Otherwise the room was decent.

One morning the water pump seems to have broken and we had no water in the shower room. At least this was on our last day.

I recently stayed at at this resort, and really enjoyed it.

When I arrived, I was a bit confused by the many varied decorations around the place (dinosaurs, with turtles, lambs, birds, deer, old toilets used as pot plants etc etc.)

Checkin took a little longer than expected, as the lady had gone to get some food, and no one else was about to check me in.

I was given one of the floating rooms on the river. It was a fair distance away from everything else, but it was beautiful and peaceful.

The rooms were basic, but comfortable.

The food service was OK. The meals were tasty, but it was hard to get service. (I did stay mid week, and there was only 1 other group of people staying there at the time, which could account for this).

There is a shop with a range of spa products, which I loved. A lot of great products, all at reasonable prices.

Overall, once I looked past the bizarre decorations, I really enjoyed my stay here, and would recommend it to others.

The location of this hotel is beautiful. We stayed in a room that was floating on the river Kwai. Brilliant waking up and looking out directly onto water!

The room was pretty basic, air con worked but we could not change it to a warmer setting so we were freezing in Thailand!!!

The setting around the hotel is bizarre with giant plastic dinosaurs and plastic animals dotted around the place!

Its a good base camp for trips around the area but not luxury!

I stayed in the floating bungalows on the river and they were OK. A bit far from reception and the dining areas, but they were comfortable and it was a good experience. The resort itself seems to be remote from any urban area and you will need to make your own entertainment, but it depends what you're after. The food was reasonably good and service was friendly.

I had selected this resort because i found most good reviews from others that What we expect. But most what we experience so disappoint since start from check in during stay until check out.
Start with non welcome and delay check in only wait for reception who know how to read agoda voucher and located our booking. Again non welcome gesture and courtesy guest to recommend their place such breakfast info.
In room if you want to contact staffs we had to use our cell phone to call staff no phone in room.
You could be disturbed from next door noise, wall poor sound proof
I asked either HK on site to change new towel during day time and after remind by our calls to staff total three times. finally we could received on next day during HK did room clean.
When we call them to order from their Room service Menu. What they said Sorry we had available only few dishes only one dishes.Server came with non seasoning for noodle.
When we were at pool and i walk to Restaurant at 11:00 to order three sample food and ask them to serve at pool (only one table guest and 200 meters distance). After we were waiting one hour pass my child was so hungry Then we decided to pack our belong from pool walk to restaurant. What we saw other two tables could get full food orders but our orders were left in tray without server.Staff excuse Kitchen had a lot of orders?
We had enough and asked to check out early one night. Even we knew non refundable our non stay night almost 2,000 THB but we never ask for.
What we expect from reception when we call them to early check out or when we were at counter to check out is their courtesy with Care. But not happening.

I believe this resort need more trained staffs and more selecting service people but not people who work only day by day. Most important than nice product could sell to any but what we prove is staffs could make its valued or non valued to spend and come back also recommend other?

Room Tip: don't choose room on raft because will noone want to service you because you have to walk to the...

We travelled to River Kwai and Tiger Temple/Elephant park and this hotel was quite close to our tour. I chose this hotel in booking for a good price and the distances. It was quite empty but the house was very nice with the amazing terace with the view on the river Kwai and private space around. The bed was comfortable, only the bathroom could be smaller with no holes in the roof :-). But it was not a problem. Tv, fridge and air-condition were included in the room. We had to wait for the breskfast 15min, the service was quite slow but if you are not a hurry you can enjoy nice morning with the green trees and the view on the river. I was fine with this hotel.

Room Tip: They have very different rooms. Try to book those with the river view. They have great terrace
