This is our idea of what a small leading hotel of the world should be like and truly justifies its inclusion as one of them!
The location of the resort is just divine and the views from our room were just awesome. We left the main windows with the curtains open every evening as our room wasn't overlooked and woke to the beautiful beach and sunrise. Partly due to the sound of the sea and location of the room and also some of the best beds, pillows and comfortable mattress we have slept on in a hotel we slept very late and so well.
Breakfast is served at tables outside the room..no extra charge and was fabulous fresh fruits and poached eggs etc to perfection!
Beach is effectively private and many times it was just the two of us.
Food in the restaurant is where the hotel is outstanding. My wife is a vegetarian and I emailed before we arrived. Every single member of staff was aware and every single meal was an experience and any canapé served was vegetarian for my wife. When we explained that she didn't eat caviar....it was specially made vegetarian caviar out of chilli. The attention to detail is immense. The food was divine throughout. The prawns and fish I ate were so much fresher and tastier that the renowned 5 star hotel we are in Bangkok!
But it's not just the food that the hotel is outstanding in it is also the staff which are fun, professional and the most attentive we have ever come across. Some times we saw a few guests....but generally u feel that you have your own private hotel with amazing food and great staff. The only shocking statistic from the hotel was 22 rooms with a massive 74 staff. The ratio is huge and goes a long way to show why James runs one of the Small Leading Hotels of the World. Thank you and all your staff for a truly special holiday.

Good morning Chris
What a review!!! , it was truly great having you around and we truly appreciate your comments and feedback .

Chef Ian and his team are extreemly flexible on dietary direction and our service team really love to make your experience truly unique.

Our small touches and continued software, ie team development makes Aleenta what it is today and of course our hand picked bed linnen and matreses.zzzzzzzzzzz.

We believe in investing in people without micro managing , maybe we do have a large team however it does develop the area , provides jobs and creates skills, why wouldnt we?

From here they can move to any of our other 4 sites and progresss their carreer in hospitality.

We cant wait to welcome you home and as we said before you left , "once a visitor to Aleenta you then become a member of our family" the benifits on returning are endless !!

Like minded people understand Aleenta and you certainly did from eggs to beds.

All my team send their regards and wish you well and know we wil see you again , oh BTW you wouldnt recognise your room now , its wonderful with its new deck and pool .

We stayed for 12 nights in the Beach House at the end of August. Our 3 teen/pre-teen boys had the upper floor and we had the lower floor- each with their own bathrooms. We also had our own plunge pool, hammock (big enough for 3), beachfront and roof-top sun deck with outdoor shower.
We had a fantastic experience from the first booking enquiry to the (sad) journey back to the airport. James and his team really do an incredible job to try and ensure that you really do have the holiday experience that you are looking for - whether that is quiet relaxation or a bit of excitement. Any enquiry or problem - no matter how big or small was dealt with in a friendly and efficient way - even providing us with a car and driver to take our son to the hospital and back (we didn't realise until checking out that we had not even been charged for this), and arranging for the spa to bring us some fresh aloe vera after noticing our son's sunburn - it is these small touches that make all the difference when travelling with children.
We had half-board which included a huge breakfast and 2-course a la carte dining in the evening in either of the restaurants. The food is also one of the highlights of this hotel and the menu is extensive, varied and exciting and uses fresh local ingredients. The food can be a bit on the hot/spicy side, but they are happy to reduce the heat if you ask. The restaurant staff surprised us on several occasions by setting our evening table up in different locations (such as the pool-side and roof spa), and arranging special surprise menus for us.
I was a little unsure whether this hotel, which undoubtedly suits couples and honeymooners, would suit the varied needs of our family, but resident manager James went out of his way to ensure that we (adults) had the relaxation we needed and the boys were offered the chance to try all sorts of new things. Their highlight is undoubtedly driving a tuk-tuk around human bollards (long-suffering hotel staff) in the car park! We also all enjoyed our trips to the night market in Hua Hin and the nearby Ciccarda art/culture market. Another bonus for us was the chance to borrow the hotel bicycles (no charge) to explore the local area.
The beach is large, mostly desserted and cleaned daily in front of the hotel. The only down-side for us was not swimming in the sea having seen the large jellyfish washed up on the beach. This is apparently common at this time of year and in overcast humid weather and obviously nothing that the hotel has control over! Fortunately the hotel has a small pool near the bar and a large pool at the Frangileela wing a short walk up the beach as well as the private plunge pools that most of the rooms have.
I would like to say a big thank you to James, Mr Pongsak for looking after us so well (and sorting out the hospital visit), Lek for her lovely smile and friendly service in the restaurant, Bank for his fantastic hot chocolate (according to my boys), Raj for his friendly chats and efficient service, the ladies in the spa for their magic touch and all the other staff members - too numerous to name.
This holiday, which was supposed to be a one-off special treat for us, has left wanting to return as soon as we can.

Room Tip: Choose a room with its own plunge pool in the sultry summer months.

Thank you for such a wonderful holiday! We stayed in the Chaba villa for 12 nights and it was our 2nd holiday at Aleenta - even better than the first time.
The food is of excellent quality with most of the ingredients sourced within 30km of the resort. There is a lot of choice with Pad ka prow moo being my favourite. We enjoyed a cookery lesson where we visited the local market, learnt about the produce and then cooked a delicious lunch. We even made ice cream with liquid nitrogen which was very exciting! My younger brother then helped in the kitchen to make us a candlelight dinner by the waves watching the fishing boats - definitely a once in a lifetime experience.
We also had a couple of massages in the spa looking out onto the sea which was lovely.
The staff are all very friendly and can speak excellent English; they even taught us a bit of Thai!
Free use of bikes allowed us to explore the local area seeing many different sights including the Buddhist temple, fish market and local village.
The resort is perfect in every way and reflects the hard work of James and his team. I certainly hope to return again next year to my favourite country and hotel in the world!

We stayed in Room 9 and it was the most magical experience. The room was a little tired but we just couldn't fault the view, the location, the service, the food, the plunge pool, the hammock... Every morning there was a magnificent sunrise directly in front of our room and a moonrise every evening that we were there. The staff raked the beach smooth each night and sketched "Good morning!" in the sand, which was gimmicky we'll admit but had the right effect nevertheless! We loved being the first on the sand for the day and going for a long swim before breakfast, which was amazing (unsurprisingly) and served on a three tier platter in front of the small infinity pool on the restaurant terrace.
Having only a few rooms, the hotel felt intimate and comfortable at all times. Oh, and every evening at 4:30pm an afternoon snack was delivered to the room with a smile.
The bar bill and room service charges will hurt if you're not careful, but the former is easily dodged by hiring a scooter and visiting Tescos in town—we stocked our fridge with San Miguel at 35BT a 300mL can, which is much, much cheaper than what's available on site, and since we ate every meal at the hotel the establishment didn't object.
There was, quite simply, just too much to love. Loved it so much, in fact, that we cancelled our Bangkok reservations and stayed an extra night at Aleenta. Can't wait to return!

Room Tip: Stay in the bures rather than the pool terraces, unless you don't mind a little less privacy and...

Thanks so much ,what a wonderful review and most heart felt .

You raise soem Intertesting points and ones we are already aware off , great minds must think alike !
Your room has just been removed for renovation , including new wood decks , new bathroom and a new pool , it wil be back " un tired" in 3 weeks ready for you next visit .

The new whimsical mini bar is being implemented today funny enough with new prices that make the supermarkets look expensive! , fun snacks that remind us all of our youth with an Aleenta adult touch .
We are truly glad that our attention to detail was noted and these are the unique things that make us a smal luxury hotel .
Our gardeners work hard to keep the beach as clean as we can , the morning message does change sometimes into Thai, you have to ask the gardener what it says , creating english knowledge and comunication teh idea behine teh message is to let you know teh beach has been cleaned as its the iceing on the cake
We are all about , product and good old fashioned service at Aleenta , we cant wait to welcome you back as a true friend
On your next visit please ask to see our farms and hand reared free range animals, this is what makes us 87% sustainable reflecting in restaurant prices, flavour and love for our resort
see you soon

James, Ian and the team

Aleenta is what it says on the tin and we thank you for your continued support .

In general, it is a nice hotel and all staffs are excellent. The hotel location is just a bit far away from downtown, I need to drive around 35 mins to downtown and night market. It would be a bit late when we finished shopping and walking around from downtown, so that we didn't have enough time to have spa in Aleenta.

I would like to remind the guests that will drive to Aleenta that the hotel location in Google Map is incorrect, please look for "Aleenta Resort&Spa" instead of "Aleenta Resort & Spa Hua Hin", it is about 15 mins driving distance.

We stayed at Aleenta at the end of our tour of Indochina and what a place to end in. We have never stayed anywhere so beautiful and were definitely taken away by this beautiful place. We were upgraded to one of the palm suites which was stunning. Our own mini hideaway. The staff were great and always cheerful. Food was fabulous and even had my nails done! A place to relax and unwind and enjoy life without TV HOORAY! Thank you Aleenta for a wonderful stay.
PS I loved the messages in the sand tray and loved leaving a reply!

Well what can I say! It was out first time visiting Thailand, and it was certainly a trip to remember! I had done a lot of research around the area and I was over the moon with my decision of Aleenta! Everything was perfect.
The room was beautiful! we were able to catch sunrise on our last day breaking through the villas patio doors and it was such an amazing end to the holiday.
The staff were superb, nothing was ever too much and fully accommodating and wanting to help in every means.
The facilities were fantastic too, everything told a story from the hammocks being made by the fishermen when they werent able to go out to sea to the couples spa treatments which was incredible! I have to definitely recommend starting the holiday with a morning in the spa!
Aleenta will always be a place which is special to me as my partner proposed on the beach during our holiday to me and I hope in years to come we're able to come back and visit and relive that special moment.
Thank you so much for a perfect holiday!
