We stayed at the Wora Bura resort for nine nights.
The resort, especially the swimming pool, is peaceful and luxurious. The pool and ocean are both so warm, just like a bath! A great place to stay if you want quiet and retreat, you can hear a pin drop at 7:00 pm!
The breakfast and room service are phenomenal, but unfortunately we experienced consistently poor service and food at their restaurant for lunch and dinner. Also a side note that we were touring with a group of 40 people, and 75% of us seemed to be plaqued with tourista sickness for the better part of our stay, despite drinking bottled water, etc. However, this may be attributed to the heat and other travel conditions.
Rooms are very comfortable with all the modern ammenities anyone could need.
Great things to do close by: a 20 minute walk down the beach to 'monkey mountain', where you can feed and watch dozens of wild monkeys frolic in the sea and sand, Muay Thai kick-boxing on Wed. and Friday nights at the Grand Hotel, and a few night markets in town.
All in all, the Wora Bura Resort is stylish and very comfortable, with great service and a real atmosphere of Thai tradition and hospitality. The Thai people are so lovely, and the staff at this resort are no exception.
