Had a week here in December 07 with another couple of friends. The theme of the week was the gents playing a bit of golf in the mornings whilst the girls relax in the pool and spa area, and then exploring Hua Hin each night, i.e a relaxing holiday
This was our first trip to Asia and I couldn't really fault the hotel at all. The staff were exemplary ( U.K based hotel staff could learn a thing or two) and looked after all our needs and just seemed so happy to serve us.
The rooms standard were the best I think we've ever stayed in, and the ground and pool area were spotless. Best sun beds ever (!) with two complimentry towels per bed. So easy to have a snooze !
The food around the pool area is the only thing that's a little disapointing but its O.K really, it just doesn't match the rest of the services. Breakfast in faultless. Since everything is so cheap in Hua Hin, hotel prices seem pretty high, but still cheap in comparison with other parts of the world (especially U.K !)
The Wora Bura is a few km for the centre of Hua Hin but that isn't a problem at all. Wora Bura run a complementary bus service into town every hour and it will cost about £1.50 total (for 4 people !!) to return in a tut tut which is good fun.
Overall a fantastic holiday, and the local golf courses are of fantastic quality. The only one negative that is worth mentioning is that in early December the high tides meant we never saw the beach !!, i.e the sea lapped right up to the hotel grounds, so no chance for beach strolling and people watching. A local tut tut will take you to an alternative bay 15 mins away.
