We spent four nights at the beginning of February. We have stayed at or visited other more expensive resorts in Hua Hin. This was the absolute best. It is small and has an intimate feel. It is very quiet and the staff is friendly and helpful. They provide a free shuttle into town twice a day. Otherwise anytime you wish transportation into town they will call a taxi which appears within two minutes. If you take a taxi to or from town the cost will be 120 baht. A free computer internet is provided which I never saw in use except when I was using it. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with pools and old growth native plants including numerous orchids. This is in contrast to the more sterile appearance of other resorts in the area. The only drawback when we were there was the lack of a beach. Due to the winds and high water the beach never materialized. The staff said that it was this way sometimes. They did provide free transportation to a nearby beach about five times a day. Breakfast was not a big variety but was excellent and the menu changed daily. When we go back to Hua Hin this is where we will stay.

“Nice place”

Stayed 2 nights. Don't be put off by the long narrow drive from the road, it's a really nice hotel when you get inside with plenty of plants & a small infinity pool right on the beach. The room I had was on the top (2nd) floor up fairly steep wooden outside stairs. However room was very good, very large with a superking bed, safe, fridge, TV etc. Bathroom good with large shower etc. Aircon was pretty silent & effective. Everything seemed very clean & new. Staff very friendly & helpful. Breakfast buffet good with plenty of choice except no fresh juices (seems to be usual in Thailand, Laos etc). Its about 2km from town centre but they run a free shuttle am & pm but dont seem to be many tuk tuks outside. Also they have free internet! Good value, I'd stay there again.

“A Wonderful Little Resort”

This little resort was absolutely perfect. The rooms were clean, spacious enough for what we needed, and perfectly decorated to bring the "outside in". The grounds are lush and spectacular... everywhere you walk you feel like you're in paradise. The pool is wonderful - variations of depth and space to suit everyone's needs (we have a toddler). And the beach was right down the steps from the pool.

The resort offered complimentary rides into town 2x per day. Fun to go out for dinner, but not necessary. The restaurant was excellent, and we could have eaten there for every meal. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful and fresh.

Thae staff was friendly and very helpful. They arranged transportation for us back to Bangkok, and several times shuttled us directly to the restaurants we desired/

Walking down the beach, it seemed like Baan Talay was the only place that showed signs of life. And for good reason... a great experience for a reasonable price.

I want to return the favor - thanks to all you who write reviews... you saved me from going to an awful place and guided me to Baan Talay. Excellent. Sorry I didn't take more pictures to post!

“Lovely Intimate Resort”

Baan Talay Dao Resort

10/10 found this review helpful

My husband & I are just back from a relaxing 2 wk break at this hotel. It's a small intimate resort with lovely central courtyard, excellent location on beach and restaurant overlooking sea is wonderful. All the staff were very friendly & helpful. Most of the other guests were Japanese & European. The hotel is approx 10 mins by car/tuk tuk from centre of Hua Hin so walking into town is impossible but hotel has comp mini bus at 10am, 6pm & 6.30 pm and tuk tuk is only €2/£1.50 each way so this isn't a problem. Thai massage available on beach directly outside hotel 1hr costs 200 Baht approx €4/£2.75 excellent value. Our studio room was nice & comfortable but I wouldn't say it was luxurious. We thoroughly enjoyed our hol & would definately recommend this hotel to couples of any age but families with teenagers may find it too quiet/remote.
