We celebrated New Year's Eve at Le Bistro after 1 wk in Thailand. We wanted decent wine and Foie Gras. The young French chef was extremely personable and came talked with us a few times during the dinner. The restaurant does have a nice atmosphere to it. The food was very traditional classic French cooking which I was suprised to see the Chef stayed true to his roots with one exception which I thought was great..melon and ginger sobert. I thought it was execellent and creative. Speakng of creative, you will not find it here but you will find excellent clean french food. The price was reasonable not cheap.
I have to say services were a bit poor despite a lot of staff running around. Clearly, they do not have formal training (ie the toothpick and candies came before someone would ask us if we wanted coffee or we had not asked for the bills). This is very typical in many restaurants in Asia
Do give it try if you are tired of eating Thai food.
