“Wonderful stay...impeccable service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2011

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Hua Hin in mid October for a long weekend getaway from Bangkok. The stay was wonderful -- we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will return.

From check in to check out, the service was exceptional. Particularly delightful was Khun Mey at the Regency Club. Our young boys loved her, and she ensured that our family had an enjoyable visit to the club each afternoon.

We had a Deluxe Club King room. The room was in great shape and met our needs. We had room service meals a couple of times, and they were reasonable.

The pool was fabulous for our children. They particularly enjoyed the shallow area that is a faux beach, as well as just floating around the many branches of the pool. Unfortunately, our kids were too small to use the water slide. We didn't spend too much time at the beach because we enjoyed the pool so much!

We can also recommend the Barai spa. We both had a couple of massages there and thoroughly enjoyed them.

We also went out to the night market just down the street. The only downside to the night market was having to keep saying mai dai, mai dai over and over again to the locals who think it is okay to keep grabbing my blonde hair blue eyed boy and rubbing his head. Come on folks, that is not acceptable behavior.

Bottom line: This is a great place to stay for either a quick excursion from BKK or a specific destination for a longer term holiday...

We run our annual conference (training) at this hotel every year in September. Having travelled and stayed in hotels all over the world, including some who claim to be 7 star, it is to the Hyatt in Hua Hin that we return every year.
The staff are amazing, the bedrooms are perfect, the grounds are beautifully manicured, the pools are huge and the food is gorgeous.
We stay at the Hyatt for the whole of September every year and are constantly looking forward to going back.
When you are there be sure to experience the Barai Spa which can only be described as a spiritual experience!
Stunning hotel!

Room Tip: They are all good! Have a look at the new Regency rooms though - spectacular!

I've been formulating this review in my mind a lot since returning home from our stay at HRHH. We were there for 5 nights last week with friends - 7 of us all up. My husband and I upgraded to a Barai Pool suite as it was our anniversary and this was our gift to ourselves. The rest of our group were in standard rooms as was booked by our travel agent back in Australia.

The Barai Pool suite was amazing and the service was faultless. Every need was met and the design and appointment of the room was exceptional. We were very impressed from the moment we were collected from reception and taken to our room to check in.

Unfortunately a miscommunication issue caused our checkout to be very disappointing (we were charged significantly more than expected from our initial enquiries and the prices quoted on the website). In hindsight, the price we paid for the accommodation accounted for the excellent service and superb facilities we experienced but we would have liked to know exactly what we were paying BEFORE we checked in!

To our dismay, all of our friends reported experiencing a less than acceptable level of service for the room rate they paid. The facilities themselves seemed fine (from what we saw) but they said they had trouble with service in every way - from room servicing staff being inconsiderate to restaurant staff ignoring them. Sadly, they have all said they wouldn't be staying there again unless they were staying in the Barai suites - however this would be unlikely after our issues on checkout.

My internal debate on this review is due to the fact that for the duration of our stay, we were extremely happy at HRHH. As mentioned, the Barai staff were wonderful and we loved the suites, the spa and the hotel grounds. We were treated like royalty.

So in short, if you have written confirmation of your room rate before you check in, and if you stay in the Barai suites, then I'd highly recommend HRHH. If your staying in standard guest rooms, then I hope the service level you experience is better than that given to our friends.

In rating the HRHH, I am only basing the score on our experience - not the experiences of our friends. It's worthwhile to note, that if our checkout experience had not been so bad, then my rating would have been 5 stars.

Room Tip: Ensure you know what rate your paying for the Barai Suites. The website 'Rates and Reservations...

Dear PGPerth

Thank you for sharing your experience of your recent stay at THE BARAI Pool Suite at Hyatt Regency Hua Hin.

While we are pleased to learn that overall you had an enjoyable stay at the resort, we regret to learn of the confusion with the room rate of THE BARAI Suite which led to a negative impression upon check out.

After our investigation, we have found that the room rate charged to you was correct as it is mentioned in the website. Under Rooms and Rate section in our website, you may find a column which says average daily rate then underneath is the various room type and rate. Nevertheless we are disappointed that our team fails to reconfirm this to you in writing after speaking with you over the phone to confirm THE BARAI Suite upgrade. Our apologies for this oversight.

With regards to your friend's experience staying in the Hyatt Guestroom is definitely a concern and this is clearly not consistent with the standard of service that your friends have expected from Hyatt Regency Hua Hin. I have personally addressed this matter to our team members and will do our utmost to prevent this from recurring.

We have communicated to you and your friends separately on this matter including the service recovery plan and thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

We look forward to having the opportunity to make amends out of this unfortunate situation and hope to welcome you back to the resort soon.

With sincere regards

We have just spent 8 nights at this stunning resort and have been overwhelmed by the standard of service which is simply second to none. Sammy, the general manager, leads by example and regularly chats to guests ensuring that they want for nothing. We mentioned a small problem to him and it was instantly rectified. His friendly 'hands on' attitude and 'open door' policy ensure that no guest leaves HRHH dissatisfied in any way. Hyatt Regency are lucky to have him.
The staff in the Regency Club were helpful beyond imagination, ensuring that everything was done for us - from booking a taxi, to booking a trip, to remembering what drink we liked - nothing was too much for them. A special mention to Amp, who organised our days for us and yet still had time to tell us about Thailand and Thai customs. She also regularly kept us up to date with the flooding situation in Bangkok ensuring that we left early enough on our last day because of the extra traffic that we would encounter on our way to the airport (and we did so lucky we left earlier than planned!)
We went into Hua Hin for dinner a couple of nights but to be honest although we went to the best restaurants, they still didn't match up to the standards at the hotel. Wine and drinks were no dearer at the hotel than outside and nor was the food when compared to restaurants of a like standard. All of the restaurants on site, have indoors and outdoors, most people sat outside but we preferred to sit inside in the airconditioning, which they turned up when we mentioned that it was still a little warm for us.
We didn't have children with us but still enjoyed the fun of playing on the flume in the main pool, before returning to the quiet of the Regency Club pool.
The hotel grounds are beautiful and manicured to within an inch of their life. We have never seen so many beautiful plants in one place. We are not really beach people which is probably good as the sea was not at its best due to the flood waters from Bangkok but we still enjoyed a walk along the beach on a few evenings.
Finally, the Barai Spa was amazing. We had read reviews that it was much cheaper to use the massage parlours at the end of the road but there was simply no comparison. You get what you pay for and the Barai Spa staff were oustanding. If you were staying in a Barai Suite or a Club Room, you got one massage free every day but even if you aren't, I would thoroughly recommend that you have one - they are considerably cheaper than in England and so much better!
All in all, if you are going to Hua Hin, definitely stay at the Hyatt Regency - if we ever go back, we will undoubtedly be staying there.

Room Tip: If you can afford to book a Regency Club Room, then definitely do as the use of the Club and it'...

Dear JSCOC Brentwood

Our sincere appreciation for sharing your specific feedback on your recent stay at the resort.

I am truly grateful to have the opportunity of meeting you and appreciate your letting us know the problem you encountered and furthermore giving us the opportunity to fix and remedy the situation so that you could enjoy the remainder of your vacation.

Although every efforts are made to ensure that all our staff members extend the best care and attention, however there may be times that the expectations were not met and our team may possibly not able to identify the challenges, therefore we will be pleased if our guests could alert us so we can fix the problem rather than leaving it to the end of the stay or even depart the resort with perplexed feelings. Once again I really appreciate your kind feedback.

Thank you for your kind words to our Regency Club team and Khun Amp. I am sure that they will be delighted to hear such nice comments from you.

Your comments about our food and wines quality and prices are very encouraging indeed. We are constantly reviewing our prices and ensure that they provide the best value for our customers and we are grateful for this confirmation,.

Your Barai Spa testimony is also very much appreciated.

Please accept our sincere gratitude for choosing to stay at the resort and we look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.

Khun Kiwi and his family, friends and clients are regular visitors to HRHH. We have been regulars since the property opened. It has become our resort of choice and we have never been dissapointed. Spotless, rooms, attentive staff, fine food, clean beach and amazing swiming facilities. The executive team lead by example and this flows down thru the ranks.

I ask my teenage daughters where they might like to go for a break during the school vacation... It will be a Hyatt property somewhere for sure... Singapore/Hong Kong/Australia.. Their answer is always the same....... Hua Hin!!

We are not sure Paradise can be better than the Hyatt Regency Hua Hin!! we have no plans to check either!!

From a business perspective, HRHH is a useful tool for those of us that have international clients jetting in.. It is a comfortable drive from Bangkok and once checked in, focus on the business is almost distraction free...

I am a regular international traveller and find that globally Hyatt properties excel in consistency in the little things that matter to people like me.... Quiet rooms, cleanliness and attention to detail.

Room Tip: This is a low rise property but go for the top floor for serenity, nice views and less mosquitos

We have just spent 7 days at this resort and have been racking our brains in the 4 days since we returned home to think what we could find fault with - NOTHING! The staff deserve a particular mention from the Manager down to the maids and security staff who strove to do whatever they could for us. Receptionist Mey was especially helpful and friendly and even mucked in serving drinks when she was needed. The Regency Club was a worthwhile additional option with it's inclusive snacks and drinks (including alchololic) from 5.00 to 7.00 along with the free soft srinks/fruit all day long. As has been said by others, whilst the beach is good, the sea was not particularly inviting but may have been affected by the recent storms in the north. The hotel staff were out in numbers as soon as the tide was going out to clear any debris. We don't normally revisit hotels, preferring to try somewhere new, but I would be very surprised if we are not back there within a year or two.

Room Tip: Go for the Regency Club option - well worth the extra.

We are into the last evening of our stay at this wonderful resort, and we genuinely wish that we could prolong the stay just a bit more....

The facilities, set up, surroundings and, above all, the staff (in particular Sammy, the general manager, and the anonymous foot-soldiers who wouldn't stop at anything to ensure that we are comfortable and well looked after) are all of the highest standard.

We hope to be back here again in the future,
