Having just arrived back home from thailand, recommending Anantara at Hua Hin was the first thing i seemed to be saying to everyone. After spending 2 nights in bangkok, the Anantara was an absolute delight. We went as two couples, in our early 20's, and found the whole experience breathtaking. We had ocean view rooms which were fantastic. Big, clean, comfortable, everything you expect and more. The gardens are a pleasure to walk through every day moving around the hotel. The pool area was fantastic, lovely pool, swim up pool bar, lounging areas, all excellent. Service from the staff was second to none. We experienced the three different restuarants for evening meals and didn't have a bad word to say about any of them. Excellent variety at breakfast and lunch. The beach wasnt the best i have ever seen but the setting was still lovely and you certainly wouldnt mind sitting out on it all day. There was a slight lack of evening entertainment, but for just a couple of pound you can get a 5 min taxi ride into Hua Hin Town Center where there always seems to be plenty of life and activity. Everyone seemed to bend over backwards to help you, evryone being extremely friendly! If you want to do nothing and relax its perfect. There are things outside of the hotel in and around Hua Hin to do if you also like to get out and about trying different experinces. Over all an excellent experience. Would definately go back!!!

“Wonderful stay”

Anantara Resort and Spa Hua Hin

Apr 19, 2008

Just back from the Anantara and we had a wonderful stay with the 5 days, we had done nothing but just swimming and body massage.

The rooms are spacious, not too big for a normal garden view room but it’s quite enough for 2 persons, they are well managed and clean, I especially love their wooden floor that made me feel comfortable. Foods of all restaurants in the hotel taste good, even the price was a bit expensive than out side restaurants however it still acceptable compared to the price in HK, we also recommend the room service that price is not too expensive. There is only 1 swimming pool that looks a bit small, however as there are not too many people, so you can still enjoy a peaceful swimming, not crowded.

I especially appreciate their flexible arrangement to fulfill every customer’s need, we can order any foods we want (of course you have to know the name of food), you can get flexible spa treatment base on your own requirement.

The Spa is fantastic, the environment is clean, quiet and beautiful, even the price is more expensive than normal but you if you enjoy more you can ask for a discount. We had enjoyed the 3-days journey so we had 30% discount. It’s really worth to try and we had a good relaxing experience from their good technique and great work.

Staffs are very nice and helpful, whenever we meet them on the corridors we were saying hello with good smiling. Their security is also good managed. When we just arrived the hotel the security guard had used a scanner to check our car & make sure no illegal products being brought into the hotel, it was a surprise for us. And one day we locked our door from inside and we cannot enter the room using our key, then we asked the staff to open for us with the master key, they did it but we need to fill in a form to make sure the master key was requested by us, this is a good practice to ensure our rooms cannot be opened by any other person.

Generally the entire hotel is beautiful with well decorate garden, not artificial. Be honest Hua Hin is a place for you to only relaxing, swimming, spa and body massage, no sign seeing or other activities you can do, therefore it is not suitable for those if you expect a playing/sign seeing/shopping travel. Luckily there was the Songkran Festival in Thailand on Apr 13 the 1st day we arrived so we did had experienced their celebration – full body wet and white on face.

“unexpected surprise”

we upgraded our garden room to a lagoon room. the difference in the rooms is unbelievable! first, the view is wonderful from the balcony, which has a built in sofa overlooking the pond and gardens. the cathedral ceilings really opened up the space, as the room itself wasn't particularly large. the bathroom was lovely, with the option to slide open doors to have an 'open' bath experience.

a lovely perk was the option to order in breakfast for no extra charge, which allowed us to eat at leisure on our very comfortable balcony. we also were able to eat by the beach, which is not an option with the garden rooms... there is a separate lagoon pool which adjoins the lagoon. beautiful and private.

the service is exceptional. all staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and treated us with kindness, unlike other resorts where guests may not be treated with anything more than an afterthought.

the high tea was unremarkable. this is also included in the upgrade. the food was okay, and ice tea would have been welcome given how hot and humid it is! also, internet was included, but only one hour. it's very expensive to access internet otherwise. there is a library that has computers as well as a reading library. the grounds are gorgeous, the beach wonderful, and the food incredible.

we will definitely recommend this to friends and come back if we can!

“Near to Paradise”

Anantara Resort and Spa Hua Hin

We stayed at this hotel in May 2007, and while the beach was not the greatest by any means the hotel definitely made up for it!
We took a garden/ocean view suite which included a living room dressing room, massive bathroom and gorgeous sleeping area.
There was a balcony that was the length of the room, it had a seating area that was covered in cushions for relaxing during the day, the balcony also had ceiling fans to help with the heat.
The service in the hotel was almost excellent, there was one day that the housekeeper didn't clean the bathroom as well as she could have; once we mentioned this it was immediately cleaned again. Our dry cleaning was done every day and returned that evening. Whatever you requested was brought to you immediately. We booked the suite as it included breakfast in our room each morning, dry cleaning as well as internet service, we did have to push the point for these extras as the hotel tried to tell us they were no longer included.
Aside from that the hotel was wonderful. The restaurants were out of this world, and although the wine was very expensive, the food was 5 star quality and higher. A note that you might want to consider is that the food coupons are a bit of a scam, although the food is incredible it's also a bit pricey.
This was by far one of our best holidays!
Go into the town, see the temples, eat at the fish huts in the town, explore the lifestyle, it's so relaxing and enjoyable!
Get your legs massaged at one of the massage parlors in the town, you'll feel like a new person!

We stayed at the Anantara after moving here from a rain soaked Koh Samui.
The surrounding area is nothing to write home about, feels quite americanized.
The actual is fabulous, really lovely communal areas lots of seating, evening entertainment.
the staff are really friendly and efficient. we plumped for a for a full board package which is good value and does not limt what and where you eat. the italian restaurant is excellent, and the beach restaurant is lovely for lunch (great noodle station) and dinner.
there is a swim up pool bar which is fab and the main pool itself is really really nice and warm, with areas you can sit in and read while being massaged with body jets.
the breakfast is excellent and loads of choice.
if you can, definitely book a lagoon room they are more expensive, but infinitely better, you have your own lagoon pool which is heaven and you are right by the spa which is out of this world, it really does feel like a completely separate hotel.
Overall, if you are travelling to Bangkok and want a beach break to your holiday and don't want to fly to the islands, I would really recommend this, it is only 2hrs from Bangkok and shouldn't cost more than 3,000.00 baht in transfers.
Be warned, it is not cheap, average cost of a vodka and tonic was about £5.00 and a beer about £3.00 . bottle of house wine is about £25.00
Do take mossie repellent and spray your legs and ankles - it is very tropical and if you go out at night without it, you will be eaten alive!
I would definitely go back here, and would be interested to try other Anantaras, the one in KOh Samui was lovely too, and our next trip will be to the Anantara in Chiang Rai.
Enjoy!
