“Second Visit just finished looking forward to the third in the future”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

Well it just gets better the Amari Hua Hin Experience we are just back from our second family holiday to this great hotel and were looking forward to our next trip in the future.
We had informed Mario the GM that we would be arriving a day or 2 before hand as he had requested that we let him know that we were confirming our stay, I had requested that if possible could he reserve the same room we stayed in the last time (Hillside Pool View) as we were very happy with that.We arrived 5.30pm after a 3hour holiday drive from Bangkok it was great to arrive at our home from home as we now call it. The ice cold Apple Juice complementary and cold citrus wet towel was just the thing to freshen up after the tiring drive.
We had just handed the smiling receptionist our reservation papers to do the check in when Mario arrived to personally greet us.We said our greetings and we thanked him for meeting us.
We thought he would be on his way as he is always busy at the Holiday weekends busy helping out the staff in various ways.He took the key card from reception and insisted on taking us to our room.We entered the elevator to go to the second floor but to our surprise the elevator kept going right to the 7th floor at this point we were not sure what to think so when Mario opened the door and we walked in we knew this room was different. In fact it was Deluxe Pool View Family Suite room with dining room living room Huge bedroom on suite.
Mario had promised us last time our next stay would be better he had given us a complementary room upgrade. We are chorus members and you can get an upgrade 1 level if available we were upgraded 3 levels and we really are grateful for such a nice gesture.
My wife was over joyed and hugs and thanks all round was the order of the day.
Needless to say we totally enjoyed the room and all the extras that arrived such as fruit flowers in room and daily snacks that arrived in the evening such as popcorn cookies and fruit.
Throughout our 4 day stay we saw Mario many times doing odd jobs such as helping out at the breakfast moving tables and equipment to the pool area doing his rounds and checking out the Hotel basicaly he was leading by example and you can see he has the respect of his staff doing these jobs.Actually most of the staff are still the same there were some new faces but in General the same which is always a good sign of a good working relationship between Management and Staff which of course is great for the Guests as everyone is experienced and knows what is expected from them, this can be seen in the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the entire hotel and the willingness to ask if you are ok and is there anything we can do to make your stay better.
Really I could go on for ever with this review but i will try to give some info for would be guests.
1.This hotel is very family friendly for young and old kids club with daily activities and ease of mobility for people who use wheelchairs.
2.Dining is excellent with 4 top class Resteraunts Cafes to choose from and you can order to room also. Look out for the Menu Boards outside each Diner as there are daily specials and set meals at a very good price you can also order the specials to your room.
3.This hotel is really Relaxed super size swimming pool with childrens pool and jacuzzis and the sound of flowing water everywhere also there is a top class Spa and beauty center.
Also the Shoreline Bistro on the beach front you can listen to the waves mingle with the soft lounge music and lose yourself in a daydream.
4.This hotel is very very clean and all areas are maintained to a very high level everything is pleasing to the eye the decor is very tasteful and different concepts are evident in different areas to keep your senses stimulated.
5.Breakfast is my Favourite a fantastic buffet with asian european chinese indian several tasty cheeses and a super selection of breads and cakes cereals and Juices just the thing to set you up for the day ohh and when Mario is there to pour your tea well it dosent get any better than that.
Thanks Mario and all the hard working Staff who have made our 2 stays wonderful and im sure our next trip will be better.
If your going to Hua Hin do stay in this hotel I cant recommend it enough.Go on take the Amari Experience you deserve it.
Thanks again Mario from Eddie Goong and Boy Fintan.

Room Tip: Go for the Pool View its a bit more expensive but well worth it and book early.

Dear Eddie

Thank you so much for your fantastic review, it was quite overwhelming. As I always say a manager is only successful as the fantastic team that supports and works with. Sorry I must point out that I am not the GM, however the Executive Assistant i/c Food & Beverage, without the guidance and leadership of our GM - Mr. Christoph Leonhard, we as team wouldn’t be able to create memorable stays for our guests at Amari Hua Hin,

we very much look forward to welcoming you, K Goong & Sweet little Fintan back soon

Safe travels & happy travels.

Dear Monthien S

Thank you for your review of our lovely hotel, We are delighted that you had a pleasant stay. we are currently in process of sourcing solutions for extra seating in a secondary restaurant due to high occupancy weekends. Plus further implementing more welcome hosts to ensure smooth arrival and seating
of guests that come for breakfast on the weekends.

Thank you for the tip on our deluxe hillside rooms with day bed option built in, they are fantastic for a family of four who have children under the age of 10

We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

We have stayed in a number of hotels belonging to the Amari chain in Thailand and have been very pleased with our choice. They provide great value for money and we have enjoyed all aspects of our stay. We have stayed in Amari Hua Hin twice and have had fantastic stays. We stayed in a family room which was spacious and very comfortable. The connecting beach - a short walk away - was beautiful and clean and the pool was great. They both provided hours of fun for the children. The food was generally very good - great breakfast buffet and would recommend the barbecue by the beach. Staff were very helpful and courteous and went out of their way to help us. Little extra touches such as fruit and snacks in our room and a birthday cake for our daughter made the stay all the more memorable. Would definitely stay again.

As lot of people already mention here, Amaria Hua Hin is very lucky to have somebody like Mario working for them.
I cant speak about the GM because in 11 days i never noticed him or her, but it was not a problem because for any need or any question nothing is too much or impossible for Super Mario.
My family myself and also the couple of friend travelling with us have the same opinion, for next GM vote for Mario.
Now, about the hotel, we had 2 connecting rooms ( travelling with my son and my niece), rooms are very nice, bathroom excellent i had to remove :-), my niece everyday from the shower as she doesnt want to leave. Wifi is working perfectly, and OMG, the daily sweats and the end of the day were fantastic, kids really enjoyed the popcorn.
Bkfst is fantastic, as is the swimming pool and the staff, the buggy to the beach club is nice touch, even beach is no more than 500 meters, Beach club is superb especially for a late drink after dinner. According to my wife Breeze spa is also a very nice experience..
Once again thank you to all staff and especially to Mario ( you are the guy !)
Will definitely return.

Dear HappyFamily,

Thank you very much for your review of your recent stay with us. It is great to read that you and your family thoroughly enjoyed your time with us, and I couldn't agree more with you that Mario is a fantastic member of our team, truly leading his department by example and having his eyes and ears everywhere. He deserves the praise and I count myself to be very lucky to have him (and many other great people) on my team. I am very sorry that we did not get to meet during your stay, but hope we will on your next visit to Amari Hua Hin.

With kind regards,
Christoph

What a holiday! This was our first trip to Hua Hin and our first 'Amari' experience. I hope that this is a useful review of our stay...

Hua Hin

Much bigger than I had expected. Hua Hin is stretched for approximately 10km along a road which runs along the coast. It has a main hub where the Hilton and Centara is and this is where the multiple restaurants, bars, suit shops etc etc are located. Some of the area around here is also a little seedy and maybe not completely savory late at night, but there are some really good restaurants (Onn Onn Corner, Smile Moon & Plattoo). This is also where the markets (night and day) are located. Then there is the 'Market Village' which is where the Starbucks, McDonalds, KFC, Tesco supermarket, wine shop and shopping mall. This is about 2km south of the 'hub'. Between these two locations is the 'Grand' night market and Muay Thai centre (fights on Fri nights). Then if you continue further south from here the Amari is on the road to Thao Takiab. It is about 4-5 km south of the hub area. The location could be seen as a down side, but I think it was perfect as it was easy to get into the town on the minivan bus which goes from outside every 10 minutes for only B10pp! A Taxi/Tuk Tuk is B150.

Trips not to be missed include the Thai Cookery Course with Beau (#1 on tripadvisor), the vineyard (book at the 'Market Village' shop), Monkey mountain (20 minute walk south from the hotel) and Cicada Market (5 minute walk from the hotel, incredible food).

Hotel

The hotel is very new and it really shows. The staff were all great. Very helpful and Mario, you were fantastic. You really made our stay special. We really appreciated the early check in after our long flight from london and out late check out! Thank you!

Rooms

Very new, the most comfy beds and feather pillows. A nice balcony with furniture, mini bar and TV. Bathrooms were great, nice large shower and great towels. Also everything you could ever need in the room, including a beach bag, umbrellas, a safe, robes, slippers etc etc. The room was always very clean too.

Food

Breakfast was vast. So much selection, they really cater for all guests around the world. Service was good, although it was really busy during the weekend. Poolside food was good also, a little pricey compared with the local street food, but cheaper than the other big brand hotels. We also ate at the Shoreline and had an amazing BBQ platter. We also had a range of goodies delivered including complimentary chocolates and a honeymoon cake!

Pool

A real plus point - huge pool, Jacuzzi area, spotlessly clean, loads of sunbeds, huge long pool towels. There were always a huge amount of sunbeds, even on the days when the hotel was full. Even the choice of music around the pool was good! We stayed by the pool most days as we loved it so much.

Beach

Hua Hin does not have a golden sand beach and if this is really important then you should look at the Caribbean, Maldives or Thai southern islands. The beach is a bit mucky and actually disappears late afternoon as the tide comes in. However the Amari has a beach club which is a short stroll away and has a load more sunbeds on a grassed area above the ocean.

Spa

As part of our package, we received a massage included which was AMAZING! Without a doubt the best back and neck massage I've had. Also a drink before hand and tea afterwards.

In conclusion, this hotel really exceeded our expectations and was better than many 5* hotels we have stayed in. The real asset of this hotel is Mario, the Assistant Manager who will do everything possible to make your stay perfect. The true test for this hotel will be how it ages with time. All hotels are pleasant when they are new, but hopefully the staff can be vigilant to signs of wear and tear and keep the hotel looking as pristine as it is currently. I have a feeling we will be back to find out sometime soon!!

Just about to finish ten wonderful days in Hua Hin, and I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Just to the south of the main centre of Hua Hin, but close enough to be convenient to everything. Great staff, excellent service and what an amazing pool. Great job guys.
