went here last week. wasn't bothered about what it was like as by pass it back from thai language classes so no big deal whether good or bad. Unforutnatley - it was the latter. It could be fabujous (if you accept it's a tourist destination) but half of the shops were closed, it is definitely man made and not if I'm frank what you expect a floating market to be like (ie it doesn't float!)
stuff sold was of questionable taste/quality and despite no customers shop staff were shall we somewhat jai-yen - cool hearted
With the exception of one store (and I don't know it's name but worth searching out). There is a dress store somewhere towards the back that is run by a very pregnant Thai lady who just oozes intelligence, customer focus and salesmanship. I ended up by a dress in there and will go back for more (and take friends for same) but in truth, given the frame of mind I was in after being disappointed by the whole set up it shows how good this lady is. Quality is about the same as anywhere else but what she was selling had an innovative level (ie short, medium, long dress all in one) and her total enthusiasm / deftness and eagerness to sell made her stand well above all the other vendors
so go there for some innovative traveling dresses but not much more ....
