“Well worth the drive.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2011

I just went to the Palm restaurant in the hils of Hua Hin, well worth the 7km drive, food was great. If I have a small gripe the house wine was terrible, however I have been told they are going to change this and the easy fix, buy a bottle the wine list is small but quite good and well priced.

“Extremely good food with a great ambience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2011

This is a lovely location just a few minutes from town. Easy parking, nice decor and very friendly atmosphere. The staff are welcoming and efficient, with lots of smiles and usual Thai attitude. The menu is not huge, but the food is absolutely superb. The chef even came out for a chat during our meal. This was the fourth time I have eaten here, and every time the food has been wonderful, and that includes all courses. There is a wide choice of beers available as well as decent wines at a decent price. Overall this is probably my favourite restaurant in Hua Hin, casual enough for an informal dinner, special enough for those romantic special occasions.

“Mouthwatering”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2011

This restaurant boasts a top class English Chef (Ian Jones) who certainly knows his onions. He also knows his beef too judging from the melt in the mouth Beef Bourguignon I enjoyed. Ian is obviously a totally dedicated food professional with a very impressive CV, including The Savoy and Gravetye Manor in England. He told me the beef was Thai French and the cut was shin (perfect for over 4 hours of slow cooking!). If only I hadn't indulged in a robust portion of his excellent home made pate and chutney prior to the beef I would have been sorely tempted by one of his desserts - ah well, there's always next time! Perhaps the portion sizes are too generous? Nah, not really - only joking! Really good value for money!
Service excellent, interestingly different beers available as wel as the usual suspects, reasonably extensive wine list (no corkage on BYO wine I believe).
Closed Mondays, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday, and, guess what, a traditional English Sunday Roast - no breakfast or dinner available on Sundays, but who'd need them?
Overall, a quite delightful dining experience, very good value for money, well worth making the effort to travel out into the country a little. Perhaps take a tuk-tuk out and travel back taking advantage of the restaurant's free taxi service?
