After many visits to Evason Hua Hin, we wanted to be closer to town. But all we did was compare. Big mistake. Cape Nidra good points
Great location, shopping, restaurants, Site seeing etc.
The staff, were friendly, approchable and always willing to assist.
The rooms, were large, spacious, clean, but I was expecting a more boutique feel, as one was under the impression, from the website.
The bedroom was dark, made by dark old wooden furniture, and dark drapes, not really boutique, however the bathroom was bright, spacious, rain shower and mod cons, much more what one was expecting. The outside pool and roof terrace were good too.
Breakfast was excellent, many choices of different cusine to suit all cultures. Best to go early as can get crowded with noisy crowds and families.
Not so good.......the pool area is very disapointing, crowded, noisy and very few sunbeds. Even though there was a sunbed policy, guests still ignore this by racing down at 6am to place towels, which is unaccepatble especially when one has paid a lot, to relax at this kind of resort. I find sitting in a chair or a towel on a bunker unaccepatble.
I found the pool staff, somewhat unprofessional, very noisy, no discretion, singing out loud when one is trying to read, sleep or rest. Due to the space, you can here the boys repeating loudly your order for lunch or any other request. I do think the pool boys require some customer service training, culture awareness, discretion, respect guest privacy and maintain a service to the standard of the hotel. I felt like I was at a Benidorm 2 star pool at times.
The rooms all beit nice, lacked privacy. One could see into next door and vise versa. I did not feel like I was in my own private pool villa......as one mentioned, I was use to the Evason. We felt very cramped in the resort.
Due to location, this hotel was overall very acceptable. A quick walk into town.
The manager, was very professional, always went out out of his way to offer servie recovery when needed. Very approachable and gave reconigtion when needed.
Although a few faults, an overall accepatble property and enjoyable holiday.
It is always good to see what else is out there on offer.
