“Going dowhill”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2010

How things can change in a few years. I recently stayed at Fresh Inn with extended family. We rented two rooms which were clean, but that's where it ended. The beds where as hard as the floor, the bed pillows smelled of foam and there was no hot water! (Staff claimed they had solar heaters for hot water and it was cloudy for the time we were there.
I had stayed at the Fresh Inn a few years prior and had none of these issues before. I reuested a discount because of the uncomfortable nature of the room and was give about 8% off. Staff was pleasant and helpful, but I advised the desk clerk that I would not be staying there again.

Pros
- Location. Opposite the Hilton.
- Parking. Available in a private lot in back streets.
- Price. THB 1500 but got a mate's rate of THB 1000 / night.
- Pool. Small but under cover.
- Free to air satellite tv. Woohoo Australia Network!

Cons
- Cheapest room is small but ok if not spending much time there.

Firstly Hua Hin is a really nice place to visit - very relaxed and friendly and not too built up with a huge beach!! The Fresh Inn Hotel experience overall i think is average.

Fantastic location (I think this is what you are paying for!!) - but the hotel just feels a bit too basic, especially the rooms. We stayed in a deluxe room for £40 per night. Room was clean but poorly maintained with poor lighting and the bed was too hard to sleep comfortably (... and I dont mind a firm bed!!).Breakfast was ok but again limited choice. Indoor pool was small but very nice!!

Overall the hotel was ok - but for me it lacks any 'wow factor' and I think I would look elsewhere in future.

My wife and I decided to travel down to Hau Hin after attending our friends wedding in Bangkok. We found the Fresh Inn hotel after reading some reviews which where very accurate. You pay 2000baht approx £40 per night for the deluxe double room which includes a small balcony. The rooms are basic and clean with everything you need. The staff are very friendly and more than happy to asist you. The hotel is located directly facing the Hilton right in the heart of Hua Hin. There are many bars and restaurants surrounding the hotel, you are only 10 mins walk to the night market and 3 mins from the beach. I would certainly recommend this hotel at these rates if you are looking to save money on accomodation. They also serve great food in the hotel restaurant! The only way you can book this hotel is direct they do not use 3rd party sites.

This is a wonderful hotel. My wife and i have stayed here twice now and have booked our next trip already. The Deluxe rooms are very nice and clean considering the price you pay, which includes a really good breakfast with as much coffee and toast as you can manage.

The first time we stayed in Hua Hin it was at the Hilton, directly across the small road but this is just so overpriced for a bed, which is basically all you need.

i`m used to staying in top 5* business hotels around the world and would rate this hotel as good as any of them for service and better than most for value for money.

7 floors, opposite Hilton, 1,800 Baht pn for deluxe room
Classified in the Lonely Planet Guide under "mid-range", which couldn't be a more accuratye word to describe it.
First and foremost (for all those that will be considering it) this hotel is bang in the middle of the 'action'. Close to the bars (of all kinds) and buzz of Soi Bintaban and the whole square block around it.
From the street, the shop front looks quite upmarket, into the reception and it becomes mid-range. Things start to fall a little below mid-range when the receptionist - as sweet as she was - spoke no english at all. Charged my card for 5 nights when I'd already said (in my gest hand and word gesturing) I wasn't sure how long I'd be staying. No problem though, and soon after they had it all sorted/refunded with receipts.

The room again was mid-range. Nothing fancy (no safe - a must for me usually, no working wireless, very very thin (although all clean) towels, cheap free shampoo bottles (although they washed just fine), bed quite hard but for some that's perfect, nice duvet
and pillows. Balcony to fit 2 persons and a round table and chairs) overlooking the bars of the Sois below.

Overall Fresh Inn is bang on for the money. You always get what you pay for. Main gripe was the staff spoke english well below the local hotel staff average, wireless was down, and no safe in the room. Other than that, the location more than makes up for it. Functional hotel, for literally pence in modern world terms, right in the middle of this buzzing area. If you're not on a shoestring budget however, I would (did) definitely head to the Wannara Hotel down the road instead. It's still very cheap in real-world terms and offers a clear hotel star upgrade to this. See my review of that also posted.

I have stayed in this hotel 6 times. Standard, De luxe and Family room, all are very nice for this price category (1500-1800 bath/night). De luxe rooms are nice with sea wiew and small balcony too.
Family room has 2 king size beds, toilet and pisoar separately with big shower area. Room had alsoDVD-player.
All room types has very nice shower, beautiful and big, with good water pressure.
Hotel has small inside pool. I have never used it.
Location is the best possible for people coming to beach and party, but some rooms are very noisy until 3 am. So early sleepers should avoid this place.
Breakfast is fixed plate, but enough for normal person.
Beach is just 5 min walk away and all shops, bars and restaurants are in these blocks, so never a taxi needed while staying here.
