“Lovely boutique hotel. Great value luxury”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2011

Nice contemporary design. Room was clean with spacious bathroom. Grounds well kept and has a nice beach with lots of seating options. Hotel is intimate and has an exclusive feel.
We walked over to Sheraton next door. They dont really have any beach because they've built too far out. The ambience wasn't the same it didnt have that relaxed resort feeling. I think for your money this hotel provides luxury at excellent value.

We went with a toddler who had a grand time. He has many food allergies which are severe and they cooked him a variety of special meals with no issues. There were other families too but the pool area was always tranquil I think this is due to the private pools in villas.

The breads at breakfast were home made and delicious. I can't comment on anything else because after I tried them that's all i ate. Croissants were amazing. The food has a home cooked feel. For other meals my favorite was wood fired pizzas.

Had a massage at the spa which was great. Nice relaxing ambience.

Service was smooth -staff all friendly.

Overall if youre looking for a relaxing getaway somewhere a bit special which is not your average generic chain resort this little gem provides that at excellent value for money.

My wife and I stayed in the one bedroom pool villa at YaiYa Resort. Although we have stayed at many resorts in Hua Hin, I have to admit that YaiYa really stands out in terms of accommodation, F&B, service, location and value.

The villa has plenty of space and it can easily fit a small family of three. The private swimming pool is located on the upper level with separate refrigerator so you don't have to walk up and down the stairs when you need to grab something from the fridge.

All in all, we are very happy with YaiYa Hua Hin. It was our first stay there and it has already jumped to the top of my favorite resort in Hua Hin. I would recommend anyone going to Hua Hin to stay at YaiYa.

We, a group of 9, stayed in the 3 bedrooms pool villa with 3 extra beds.

Given the pricy room rate, we expected a regular 4-5 star hotel services. But what we got was very rude treatment from the hotel staffs. The rooms weren't very well maintained. The living area was very dark at night. Some of the lights in the room and the pool weren't functioning. During the day it was too bright and hot because two sides of the walls were entirely a glass wall and there was no curtains.

The hotel staffs were the rudest we've ever met and we all travel a lot, in Thailand and also abroad.

Before we left, we were accused of stealing their beach bags and their duck-toys and weren't allowed to leave the hotel premises. We were immediately told to pay for the stuff we did not take. When told to search again in the villa, the staff responded that we should be searching our bags instead. And that we had left the room so messy that they couldn't find their beach bags.

At the price of almost 670 US dollars, we did not expected to be treated as thieves. We did not get any apologies for the misunderstanding from their accusation either.

I would not recommend this hotel to any of my friends or relatives and would surely not return to this place again.

Dear honorable guests

Please allow me to firstly express our deepest apology on whatever happened here at Yaiya displeased you.

For 3 years of opening, with all the happy memory and the not so happy comments, yours is the first to say “rudest” staff you have ever had. This means to us all and we will be more carefulness and put more effort to improve our service.

“Accused” is not the term we use in the hospitality service; politely ask if the guests have mistaken anything in the room, yes. We are sorry if the staff misled you to the term of “accused”.

Our Pavilion is the biggest of all Pool Villas, with 9 people staying together; of course, the rooms should be “messy” enough to locate missing items, it took twice to locate the beach bag and the family of Quacky Ducks, and certainly, with the indication by you, helped us to find them. Once again, please accept our apology if the staff tried to explain why they could not find the missing items and used the term of “messy” by her sincerity manner, she was given a “warning” on her demerit by her supervisor already, she is learned how and when to use her “sincerity” manner, not to return to hammer her.

We have just returned from a 9 day stay in the Yai Ya and have had the most wonderful holiday. The hotel is a true boutique - small but not cramped; personal but not intrusive; busy but not crowded. The rooms are heavenly. We stayed in the two bedroom SaSala villa and it was ideal for our family of Mum, Dad and two boys aged 12 and 14. They got their own space and we got our own miniture resort on the roof.

It would be hard to fault any aspect of our stay. Breakfasts are good with a choice of foods. We had the saturday night BBQ on the beach and it was a bit expensive (by Thai standards) but an unforgettable experience.

We had a free massage and it was very well done, not rushed, in lovely surroundings. However, turn left out of the hotel and have a beach massage for a fraction of the price and just as good.

The free bus into Hua Hin is a great idea, although Hua Hin itself is a bustling town grown up to support the tourist industry and with not much in the way of sights. Has some good restaurant though.

All in all, the Yai Ya provided our most relaxed and luxurious holiday ever. Don't bother with the huge Sheriton next door where you have to walk miles to and from your room! Stay in a peaceful haven and just enjoy.

Room Tip: Get a two bedroom SaSala Villa.

A truly wonderful small boutique, luxury resort. Impeccable room with a great view (ours overlooked the Gulf of Thailand), The hotel boasts a beautifully designed swimming pool. A very relaxing atmosphere to truly do nothing but relax.

We stayed for just about 2 days in Yaiya and the resort is really good. The staff is friendly, the place is well designed and looks beautiful, the beaches are well maintained and aren't crowded at all. The pool is also pretty nice and the lounge chairs are relaxing.

The food in general in ThaiPas was good. The breakfast buffet was nice but the bakery items were pretty stale. But that's expected as their bakery is pretty darn bad.

We liked the designs of the room but certain things are not properly done. The separate bathrooms and toilet just look unnecessary. We'd prefer a standard bathroom with attached toilet with an extra shower to clear up the beach sand.
Although we never turned it on, the TV is placed at an awkward position.
Similarly keeping the mini-bar empty is a stupid thing to do. Just keep some basic snacks for emergencies.

The first they day they cleaned up the room, they didn't even refill the water bottles and we had to ask for it.

We did love a lot of small special touches:
- They took a nice picture of both of us and framed it for us when we left.
- We got a free of charge city shuttle (only for drop)
- The beach bbq dinner was pretty darn cheap and good.
- They sent a cake with candle for my birthday :)

Overall it's a great resort but they need to iron out the small issues with the rooms and food.

I booked this hotel based on Tripadvisor reviews and excellent customer service when making reservation inquiries.
The Pool villa was an excellent choice, very private and quiet with lovely sun terrace and 5x5 meter pool. The room was in immaculate condition and the size of the bathroom was amazing!
The hotel pool and beach looked fine but we preferred staying in the villa especially since room service had no delivery fee and worked with amazing speed...

One thing in this cosy hotel was above all other: the outstanding customer service. Especially Paratee in front desk really made it her priority to make everything perfect for us, including helping with travel arrangements beyond our stay at YaiYa.

I will definately consider returning to this hotel for a peaceful and quiet stay. Especially if I would have a group that could take advantage of the 2- or 3-bedroom villas and the even larger private pools they have.
